View Full Version : Difference between The Pigsty and Off-topic

There are some incredibly dull threads in both ATM, it just seems that when one is created in The Pigsty, the originator feels justified in talking a whole heap of shit to stop it falling off the 1st page.

The playground of attention seekers IMO. Fucking loads of them on here. Are these people quiet geeks that come out of their shells in a text based environment?

Thanks, but I don't go to those sort of places.

I don't suspect everyone to be that way. In fact there are some blatant attention whores who I doubt could ever remain quiet for more than five minutes.

However I think we'll all agree there are some people that spout crap on here but wouldn't say boo to a goose in reality.

Explain the real difference here.

Easy. I can get a 10-day ban for calling Robby a douchebag in one of them, but not in the other.

Yeah but you turn the screws the wrong way and sometimes do not know when to stop.

Lemme guess--they're by the user who told j funk to shut the fuck up the other day. Someone who gets a free pass from A Certain Moderator.

I still don't get it, NRitH. "Douchebag" is practically an everyday word.
Seriously. What I did was much worse; I just wanted to see what would happen.....and again, what I called him in OT was nothing that hadn't been said before.

He wanted to get banned. He posted a pic of Ellen, supposedly without her permission. But it was tasteful, and the two of them are doing a bit of the ol' in-out, so it's a crock. As usual.

Oh, and nugz, I added "unmoderated tags". Not that it'll make a damn bit of difference.

i honestly dont remember who that is, but maybe.

i actually think whoever wrote that tag is the same person who wrote the other extremely inappropriate tags. i think its all the same person, and theyre looking for a reaction.

TO be honest...

I really do not care if a thread or a post is moved or if a tag is deleted. I honestly shrug.

It is why, if you notice I stay out of many of the complaint threads.

Yes. Getting upset over someone talking bad about you or posting personal information is completely understandable, but thread moving is nothing to worry about.

Wow, how do you keep from tearing your hair out?

I understand that people want to get on here and have fun, and don't like it when things are changed up. I'm not particularly fond of some thread moving, but when we focus on things like that, the forum gets to be an uglier and much less fun place.

(that's not directed at anybody, just an observation in general.)

I know you weren't....but it is rather funny. Think about it, moving threads around. Why do people get upset so about it?

BETTER YET, why is it even DONE as often as it is. That may actually be the more relevant question.

I don't know. I'm tired and talking in circles.
I need to go to bed so that I'll be able to pull of a fresh Christian Bale tomorrow.

It's untrue.

You're caught on the spot by bored which is very unlucky.
bored gave you 10 day time out, not me.
You can always put the blame on me whatever you find unjustifiable which only shows your childishness and stupidity.

You did post an obscene image using spoiler which is in my view worse than trolling Robby outside of the pigsty.

it couldn't have been me he was referring to because: (1) i haven't (as far as i can recall) ever suggested that the person in question should, "shut the fuck up"; and (2) as nrith will probably be aware, i haven't added any tags to this thread (i very rarely do) and he's better at investigating people that post here than that. i doubt he'd make that kind of mistake.

(incidentally, what did the tag in question say? [i'm assuming it's been deleted].)
