It's a shame the Pigsty has failed

As I've said in the Pigsty thread on the feedback forum, the idea behind the Pigsty was a bit too close to the bone in my opinion. The idea of an anything goes forum, in my mind, is that of in jokes, silly pictures, random moments etc etc and a peculiar brand of humour that would be SLIGHTLY exclusive but well worth. Unfortunately, the idea of promoting this part of the forum to have it out with one another has caused those who supported this idea to be branded trolls.

Therefore, I don't see a future for this sub forum. It's a bit annoying, because the idea of having a random argument with someone ENTIRELY tongue in cheek is something I think can create the odd titter for those watching and involved - just my warped wit, I suppose. However, Solo isn't the place for that, too many obsessives and weirdos from across the globe who genuinely hate one another would only use this place to make things even more that bit personal.

Also, hijacking stupid threads in off topic may be inappropriate, but Christ, some of the RUBBISH and boring TRASH in there needs to be mocked.

So in conclusion, fuck you.

I do not see this as a place intended for trolls. I see this as a place where you do not have to put up with moderators moderating. People complained about thread merging or bias moderators. Well, post here then. Quite frankly, I do not understand why anyone would want to post in the Off Topic section anymore. The trolling or member disputes there was never a problem. It was the moderating from what I can tell and from what I understand.

Its a place where you can have a conversation that will not be disrupted by the moderators in any way. That conversation can be completely noise, total trolling or fairly interesting.

It's up to the users to decide what the pigsty is.

I'm just dipping my toe into this Pigsty for the first time right now. Haven't looked around. Bear in mind that it is people like me who took the blows to bring a free speech zone back to SoLow. This was, after all, my idea to begin with. The mods are caving to one of my demands, and I wanna embrace it (though it's not being executed as I suggested). But I am suspicious. I have good reason to be suspicious of these mods. I will have a further statement about this soon.

I suggested a forum like this back when these forums opened. I have also repeated such a request multiple times.

This idea has existed long before these boards did. None of us deserve any credit and you truly are delusional if you think anyone is caving to your "demands".

There have been 3 people put on timeout for 3 days. None of them have actually been banned except for the extra accounts from NRITH because it's just too much work.

There is no agenda to get people banned. The goal is to keep trolls out of the rest of the boards. If it fails to do that then it will be closed and things will go back to the way they were.

Right now you can say anything you want in the pigsty. ANYTHING. You should embrace this power. If you lose it, you will never get it back.

This is your chance to quote Jackie Brown, to say someone has Yellow Fever and whatever else you want to say about anyone without any chance of being moderated unless you post personal info/pics.
