the reason is I made a specific point about the U.S. promo of 'THPGU' cd & some [deleted] moved it in to the general thread about that record ffs, thus hiding it away & trivialising it because that person obviously doesn't understand about collecting records etc!

I'll piss & moan when & wherever I wish eh!

Why don't we just call for a site-wide moderator shakeup? Keep the good ones; get rid of the bad & inactive ones.

There are only a handful of people contributing regularly to the collectors' forum - so I'm not sure if moderation is necessary at all...

If a mod is needed, I'd volunteer of course, preferably together with Grimbo and/or Sphinx?? :)

I'm just concerned that some of our mods are over-worked in the other forums, some are especially busy shifting posts about to other threads & I think they are too tired to understand the Collector mentality & think they are doing the right thing by shifting our threads but I'm sure it's not done in malice just misunderstanding & possible over-tiredness from the heavy burden of shuffling other posts/threads eh?

I'm not going to apply for moding & I'm certain it would not be offered, but I think we are a nice bunch in the Corner so self moding should be quite an easy task, especially with a couple of our own to keep a check on things & would therefore leave the non collector mods to police all the other threads.

I second that idea, too. The collectors forum has been a quite nice place here right from the start and i don't like it to be littered with personal feuds.

GU - I tend to lay low - reading lots and saying little (although as Grim will testify, as he's met me - shutting me up in person is a task and a half).

As vicarina's told you - I collect and have the cc bills that reflect this ...I'll keep watching ok and doing a little background tidying as required.

dear DavidT,

I'm not moaning (am I?) but look you've got 6 mods in the very nice & quiet Acorn Antiques, I mean Collectors Corner forum, I still think you are using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Could we not just have 2 mods, that way the other mods can be better employed in the various other forums?

If you are not taking on anymore mods how about we have a vote on which mods we'd like to mod our CC forum?

My vote would be for Sphinx, who is a self-confessed collector & I'm aware of Skinny dabbling in collector items in the past, so that would be my dream ticket! Is this thread just going to be a dream though or would you be able to answer me, please?

My idea is that if something is being bought or sold, it ends up in the Marketplace. Like a classifieds section.

The talking about buying or selling would be in Collectors.
