View Full Version : Why are posts sometimes different from email alert of same message?
The Seeker of Good Songs

I have noticed this a few times:
I get an email alert for a response to a thread I am subscribed to.
But when I click the link in the email and go to the thread, the message in the thread is different from the message in the email, yet there is no "edit" note stating the message was changed.

This is a guess, but if you edit something quickly after posting, it doesn't show as being edited.

That's correct. There seems to be about a 2 minute window for making edits without having the edit message appear. It must be an admin-configurable threshold, because another vBulletin forum that I'm on always shows the edit message, even if you edit immediately after posting.
