If I hear a better song before I die, I'll die happier than anyone ever has. The sheer poetry of the lyric makes me laugh and cry simultaneously. I suppose this has been posted before, but I don't care.

Well, out of a million, surely you could have suggested one? I'll narrow it down a bit for you, pick a Morrissey one. As far as I know he hasn't yet written a million.

"Bad Cover Version" by Pulp... and, er, the majority of Pulp stuff after 1993, actually.
"November Spawned a Monster", "Suedehead", "Last of the Famous", etc, etc, continue the list...
Every Smiths song, except... "Golden Lights"
"Losing My Religion" by R.E.M.
A Gene song or two
The whole of "Tigermilk" by Belle and Sebastian
Some Velvet Goldmine/Lou Reed stuff
85% of Divine Comedy songs
"Because The Night" by Patti Smith
Quite a few Radiohead songs...
... even a few Muse songs...

Not to say that 'Trouble Loves Me' isn't good, mind...

Songs that are worse than 'Trouble Loves Me':

Any Stereophonics song (or any other "hip indie act" currently popular: Travis, for example)
Any U2 song.
Any boyband, teen idol or popster.
Any Madonna song
Anything ever written by the Beatles (now that's a compliment!)
Any country, jazz, rap, dance... (etc)
Most Electronic stuff. Except, say, "Getting Away With It"?
Anything Johnny Marr does
Anything Andy Rouke does
Anything Micheal Jackson does.
Anything Prince does.
Recent Suede songs
etc...

Believe me, I love Trouble Loves Me. It's not the best song ever, though... or in my op-in-ion at least...

Yep, and Morrissey once said the same. (That is, that he has "narrow taste"...)

No.. its what this board is about.. post and be damned.. But I once had a romance that was based in Soho.. and these words were so relevant then and even now....

"Still running 'round
On the flesh rampage
- At your age !
Go to Soho, oh
Go to waste in
The wrong arms.."

And they did prove to be the wrong arms.. but there was never any guarantee's.. and there never is with love.. is there..
