Deaf, blind, blonde Anubis (Sweet Pea) has been my shadow all day yesterday and today. Her hips are too old to sit so she either has to lay down and sleep or walk around. I pet her, I give her treats, I rub her head, nothing's working. :o I kind of love her collar though. ;)

Billy, thought of you today.
I'm going to a party tonight where there will be about ten dogs. It's raining and cold here today but my Barney needs a bath something fierce, so I'm paying the groomer $25 to bathe him because they have blow dryers and bathtubs with warm water and all that and he'll be comfortable. And clean for partytiemz. :p

Aren't those photos eerie? And I had a morbid thought, don't you think it would be kinda cool for the divers to be swimming around the submerged stuff people left in their cabins, like laptops and toothbrushes and suitcases floating around, modern artifacts? I know they're looking for dead bodies, but how cool would that be?

Was leaving work yesterday in my car when I stopped at a cross walk to let a young mother holding her child in her arms cross the street
it was cold outside and the woman was holding the boy tight to keep him warm from the chill, as though both of their lives depended on it.
This made me smile because it was one of the most beautiful things I've seen in some time
It also made me very sad because this woman works in an office down the hall from mine and we've been making eyes at each other in passing. I was legitimate in my affection, not just in a "I'd like to sleep with you" attraction kind of way. She is not married but up until yesterday I'd had no idea who she was or that she had a child, which implies a difficult past, which is most likely more trouble than I can reasonably bear and thus voids any chance of me winding up with this woman
in the end, I'm just glad she cares so deeply about her child, which is obvious just from watching her walk across the street with him.

Hey TSM, None of my beeswax, but don't write her off yet. Being a Single mother does not necessarily make her a victim. It could be the opposite. Maybe she has chosen this way of life, maybe she had the courage to ditch a useless partner. I think single mothers suffer from a lot of discrimination because people make exactly the judgment you have here. I think you should still go for it.
Pardon me butting into your private business mate.

How does being unmarried and having a child imply a difficult past? And most parents do care deeply for their children.

How does being unmarried and having a child imply a difficult past? And most parents do care deeply for their children.
Unfit parents is the root to all evil in our society today and single mums are always bad examples as human beings. I pay tax money to fund these horny shedevils dragging their fooking kids about in a trolley. I suggest that the government starts a sterilisation programme for some people after they have gone through extensive mental tests.
It is a sad fact that few people are good parents and it is easier than some think to get them taken away by the social. People think it is a right to have kids and talk about it as if it is the same as getting a dvd or a drivers license.
There should be a license for having kids as well.
Thesmithsmorrissey

How does being unmarried and having a child imply a difficult past?
I have this thing when I start or even consider dating a woman:
we leave the past in the past, no questions asked. Unless it's on some need-to-know basis, like there's going to be some psycho ex of hers coming after both of us
having a child from a previous relationship is a HUGE part of her past affecting our present relationship, if ever such a thing were to occur.
OR maybe it's just a case of me being selfish. I think the final song on Strangeways said it the best
And most parents do care deeply for their children.
That's reassuring
because I come from a country where everyday you read the news about a mother dumping her kid in a landfill, or some prick murdering his entire family - kids and all - over something comletely unreasonable.
That doesn't make me smile
knowing that it's not going to happen with a woman I had an attraction to on a superficial level, but also knowing she cares very deeply about her child...that makes me smile. I'm okay by myself. She'll find someone in time who is better suited for such a role

So my neighbors who moved in just before Christmas have a daughter who has Down's Syndrome, I think she's the artistic director for their garden gnomes (It's a popular thing in mobile home parks.) Anyway, I was loving the tricycle being ridden by the flower she put out when they first moved in, and I think the angel lounging longlingly on the orb was there from the start too, but in the last couple days she's added the dog band. :p I love that stuff. I just thought of this.
So on Monday I checked out of a hotel where I was videoing this Greek Dance Festival for four days and one of the muckymucks that everyone stands for and kisses his ring all day long is the Metropolitan of the West Coast, Metropolitan Gerasimos or "Metro Jerry" as they call him. So he looks like this:
http://www.examiner.com/images/blog/wysiwyg/image/metjerry.jpg
He has a handler that follows him everywhere, he is never left alone. And I was staying on the 6th floor. The elevators were SO SLOW and packed with people with tons of luggage and huge instrument cases, so when one of the UP elevators stopped on the 6th floor while I was carrying all my bags I hopped on so that I could actually get on an elevator, all the DOWN elevators would stop but there was no room on them. So who was on the elevator going to the 14th floor? Metro Jerry and his handler. I got on and the handler said "We're going up you going up?" and I said "I just want to get on an elevator." while looking down and not making eye contact. I don't know what I'm supposed to do, kiss his ring? I was so nervous. So Metro Jerry turns to me and says "It is check out time." and gives me the biggest smile. :D I just smiled back, they got off on their floor at the top and I went back down stopping at almost every floor on the way. :p

A lifer for them allso, meaning it was the first time they saw it. He looks like he has a little purple hat on. :love:http://i1.treknature.com/photos/13039/western_bowerbird.jpg

Oh haha. No. But here's a really fun fact about the Western Bowerbird. I just talked to my boss who went there and found this photo she took on her computer. So I guess they love blue things and collect them and keep them at their nest. Bottle caps, straws, pieces of paper, has to be BLUE. Here's their nest she took a pic of:

March 7th is my Grandma and Grandpa's 65th Wedding Anniversary. Problem is they were married twice so they can't figure out if it's 65 or 66 years. THey fell in love and eloped in Arizona where minors could get married then, then they came back and had a proper wedding when all the family uproar wore off, but they can't remember which anniversary it is. :p I thought I'd get them a classic symbolic gift but I'm pretty sure blue sapphire is not in my budget. I think I'll draw a picture of a blue sapphire instead. :D

So today I took a stroll around downtown LA and either the city/my subconscious/God or my other half made a funny joke that I'll sum up in English instead of detailing the boring pieces that got to the punchline. As I walked around taking in the old skyscrapers and city life, I thought, "Something about this is very familiar. I could totally see myself living in the city." THen I did that thing I always do where I peek into windows of apartments (even though they were real high up)and imagine living in them. How I'd get the groceries up the elevator, where's I'd park, the logistics of walking the dog, if the lady at the corner market would come to know me and have my order ready...stupid dreamy stuff. Then at dinner the busboy kept laughing and smirking as I sat there reading my book while eating dinner. Then I read a portion where one of the characters couldn't go hunting because he was too loud.
THen I got it. I could never live in a condo. Lol. It was funny.

The star at the end of the VERY long one-take shot of the opening sequence of Boogie Nights. :D (3:41 if you are cinematically impatient, but it is a cool shot, the camera man started on a crane in the street as it sweeps around and had to step off and walk into the club where everyone took their cues perfectly. Incidentally God's really good at that all the time if you're reading him. :p)

So I'm sitting in this little theater in LA waiting for a gig to start and the theater people have corraled us all into this little bar area to wait while a play finishes or something. Anyway, they've projected a ginormous screen onto the wall of the Final Four college basketball tournament. It's all a bunch of hoity toity hipsters. I've never seen a group of people so disinterested in this ginormous sports tournament madly going on in front of them. It's kind of like an artwork in itself. I feel like I'm at a happening and the theme is incompatible cultures. :p

That's a coincidence. I went to a local pub, found the best looking woman in there and asked her (casually, as one would) : "If you had to guess the size of my penis, what would you compare it to?" She originally guessed "movie theatre", but I had to disappoint her and confirm that it was only the size of 16 candles. Those big ones that they use at Easter mass.

I don't understand your last sentence, you are able to access user's personal information?
If you are unable to access personal information, what are the kinds of information were you able to gather from your moderation tool that Death Disco was "a pathetic coward and a liar". I might be wrong but that sounds like you have personal information about him that you have gathered by methods allowed to you via this site.

I'm going to take a stab at this. I think the extent of moderator discussions about who is or isn't a "phony" is based on discussions they have looking at a user's location based on their ISP information. Perhaps Death Disco originally posted as someone else leading them to draw the conclusion he is a liar or coward, because his ISP is identical to a previous regular user. Of course proxy servers can be used to throw this system off, they might have another way to tell whether a proxy is being used (it makes the website think you're posting from another location), but I think that;s the extent of how we are monitored and by extension what our intentions are. Being a troll, a troublemaker, an OLD troublemaker, etc, etc..
I could be wrong.

What is wrong then with saying we monitor and collect IP addresses (although that would contradict Kewpie's statement that personal information is not stored)? I mean cookies are attached to the site and hopefully it is correct that the cookies are deleted when you log off (although if you log out, some cookies remain but whatever). I think what makes me feel unsure about this is that there is no transparency. Perhaps if I knew how the system worked it wouldn't bother me. Or if I did I could make an informed choice not to visit any more.

Maybe she doesn't consider an IP address to be personal information? I dunno. I once read that DavidT being the administrator CAN access all parts of the website including PMs if it was necessary to remedy a situation, so there technically is not 100% privacy. It is his site afterall. But it was indicated that only he has that tool, for what it's worth. I wouldn't get my panties in a wad about it though, I'm under the impression he's rarely even here, that the tight ship is kept afloat mostly by moderators.

Because it's against moderators conduct which is set by site administrator.
Why don't you just use his name, you rambling, lying simpleton? And can we see this code of conduct you speak of? I assume (if it exists) we could find dozens of instances of you breaking it. I'm pretty sure "moderators must attempt to bully, harrass and use insults that a 9 year old would use when dealing with members they don't like instead of just ignoring them" is not going to be one of these golden rules you are forbidden from speaking about.
Now, you can either call me a "poo brain" or post a picture of a cat, which will it be a user Kewpie?

You're such a fucking rude man. If you and your pals let people have a bit of fun on here instead of shutting them down with insult after insult, more people might come here. You really do come across like the most miserable specimen who has ever lived.
I could insult you all night, but I get the impression you would actually quite enjoy it in your sick, sad little ultra-Morrissey fan way. Do you ever just relax and enjoy anything? Or, God forbid (although I imagine you don't believe in God as you come across like some lefty Guardian-reading twat who is into atheism and animal rights, and "music that means something, man", and any kind of freedom of speech as long as it matches your own opinions) just ignore it? But that would be asking too much!! The world needs to know your opinion on everything.
I look forward to your 5-word, profanity laden, oh so 'Northern' insult by way of a reply.
You are totally sick creepy attention seeking git.
The quote you used to post your thought was posted by a youngster who doesn't want to associate with your sort.
Just sod off.
Two questions: who the fuck asked for your opinion? and what the fuck are you talking about?

Stupid little woman.
The site administrator doesn't care about your opinion, but your behaviour.
You hurt a fellow user's feeling with unnecessary filth and malice.
Just sod off, pathetic miserable git.
Go and chat up another woman in nearest pub.
And you calling me a git, a sod, an idiot and every other name you can think of under the sun is acceptable? That's what moderators do, is it? You're a stupid woman with nothing to contribute. On-topic, all you do is post irrelevant shite. Off-topic, you can't deal with it because you have no wit or common sense at all.
How about you "sod off" back to the 80s with your views, opinions and insults? Or fuck off, to who-cares-where, permanently. Your manners and tone are disgraceful.
And if the site administrator has something to say to me, I think he would communicate it directly, not through a simpleton who can't be trusted to speak English.
So, please, "the site administrator", PM me if you have a problem with what I'm saying (really, I'm not trying to be sarcastic). Your moderators leave a lot to be desired.
LOL!!
You haven't made a single positive contribution to this site, yet you have a nerve to post that I have nothing to contribute!
What a prejudiced miserable idiot, you are.
Apart from the number of messages I get saying how funny my posts are and that I make the place more interesting. How many of those have you got? Or, perhaps more tellingly, how many have you got telling you you're ruining a good website and that you are almost universally hated? Or that Morrissey himself cannot stand this website that you moderate? You, of all people, have no place to judge me.
No offense, but I really don't want to talk to you any more. You are possibly the most vile and/or stupid person I have ever encountered online. If the site administrator wants to say something to me (I'm more than happy to listen), then please ask him to do it. I don't trust you to be truthful or to accurately convey what he says.
Blooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooody liar!
I know what kind of person you really are.
Behave yourself, silly petty liar.
Seriously, stop talking to me. Your English is awful and makes you sound like a tit.
Now, let's see you "behave" like a moderator. Impartial, seen but not heard and (try your best to be) intelligent.
LOL!!
You never bother to learn other languages, you have no right to criticise my English.
What the fuck are you on about? I speak 4 languages. And being a native English speaker gives me every right to criticise your English. That's like me saying "nfiwdn infg0e isdnf0iewnf inndiengp[s" is Japanese for "charity shop worker with 10 cats" then shouting at you for daring to say that it isn't.
LOL that.
Seriously, shut up.
They can read any messages you send on here, "private" or not. Best to use email/MSN if you want to talk privately.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bQwin3Vv0k
Now that IS a lie. Utter and complete bollocks. Hey, but I could be wrong. Supply the evidence and let's have a look.
P.
I just assumed that is what Kewpie was alluding to with the above post. And people on AYNIM have told me not to send PMs on here because you can read them. That said, AYNIM is so boring they could concievably make up any old shite to make their lives more interesting now that Morrissey is in a "down period".
But, please, provide evidence that you don't/can't. Her post seems to imply that you (individually or collectively) have read my private messages.
You won't find anything, anyway.
Can't provide anything, because there's nothing there. Honestly don't know who made that one up.
P.
I'm just reporting what I was told. You don't seem the type to read other people's private messages, but it must be possible if you were that way inclined.
Again, I'm just saying what I was told and don't want to give names or whatever. But it was/is pretty common knowledge/rumour on AYNIM.
Site administrator does not give a tool to moderators to access to central private message function.
A user Death Disco is really ignorant to believe such a stupid statement of some people who left to start other site.
AYNIM uses a free software which does not have many tools. It makes them to think that moderators of this site are able to read other users' PMs.
However, it's untrue.
Site administrator gave mods to other tool which gave me info about a user Death Disco is a pathetic coward and liar.
Thanks Kewpie for confirming.
Are we able to know what other tools are at your disposal?
I'm afraid I'm not allowed to discuss moderation tools with you.
Why is that?
Because it's against moderators conduct which is set by site administrator.
Why don't you just use his name, you rambling, lying simpleton? And can we see this code of conduct you speak of? I assume (if it exists) we could find dozens of instances of you breaking it. I wouldn't get my panties in a wad about it though, I'm under the impression he's rarely even here, that the tight ship is kept afloat mostly by moderators.
Consider my panties officially un-wadded.
At the heart of this are three very simple questions
- What information is being collected about me?
- What is that information used for?
- Who has access to that information?
Kewpie says that personal data is not stored so I will take her at her word.
If Kewpie has access to information, not accessible to majority of members, concerning users where she can say that people are cowards and liars (and then warn, "behave yourself"). I would like to know from what kinds of information she has access to in order to make that judgement.
Kewpie, Bored, Uncle Skinny etc are private citizens. They are not the government nor employees of this site. I am interested to know what of my personal information is being shared with these private citizens whom I know nothing about. Especially as I have not explicitly given my permission for personal details to be shared with Kewpie or any of the other moderators.
You're right. It probably is IP addresses and nothing else. If that is the case, then I have no real beef. I would just like to be told.

So this afternoon I met up with my friend and his brother and our mutual friend at a bar for a few drinks and to catch up. A man came in selling homemade tamales and LOVING parking lot tamales I bought three chile cheese ones for $5. Then, as usual, I got "Tomorrow" stuck in my head because one time a friend sang "Tamale...will it really come. And if it doeeeessssss come, will I still be human...." and so from then on I can't hear the word tamale and not sing that song. :p ANYWAY, so sitting on the other side of us next to me are these dudes:

Anyway I got to talking to Peter about work, he asked me what I do, I said I make signs (:o) and HE told me that he's a stone contractor, his crew cuts granite and marble and they currently have a huge gig with a full crew working on the Hotel Coronado. This had made my day today....
A fat woman is at the doctors because she's having health problems.
The doctor says to her, "Madam, your problems stem from your clinical obesity....Basically you're just too fat"
"I object to that diagnosis!!" she says, "and I demand a second opinion, you rude man!"
"Fair enough" says the doctor, "You're bloody ugly too!"
hehe :D

I wonder if someone is making plans for him.
I was sitting behind a motorcycle cop the other day and he had one of those plate frames that said "SMILE I could be behind you." I thought that was kinda ballsy for a public service vehicle, but I loved it. :D

My (49 year old) sister is super pumped because she's going to see a taping of the Ellen Degeneres show tomorrow and we're pretty sure she might be seeing Justin Bieber and Will Smith. And she got all excited. Or if not it'll be Charlize Theron and she got way less excited. :p Anyway, her excitement about maybe seeing the sensational Beebs is sweet and made me smile. :D

at school, I was smiling when I found out the 1st graders get out 3 weeks early so I thought that this mean I would have 3 less classes to teach in the upcoming weeks
then I realized it just likely means 3 more with the older kids who are not so fun
so I am no longer smiling

I just saw something kinda cool. I went to the Arclight to see Moonrise Kingdom (:thumb: Excellent movie.) and on the way out of the parking structure I exited Ivar and made a right. Then I was stopped at the intersection of Ivar and Sunset right there where Amoeba is and the Premier for True Blood was letting out of the Cinerama. They had to all cross the street and go to what appeared to be a nightclub behind Amoeba (:squiffy: Never seen that place before.) but my car was stopped at the intersection and they all walked in front of it, I had a front row seat in the comfort of my own car of the cast of True Blood, except they were all wearing tuxedos and strange dresses and their hair was weird, but it was a parade of sort of familiar faces. I know True Blood is corny as hell but I love it, it's like strange therapy in a way. :p It was fun to see my therapists running across the street in heels.

I'm kinda lolling that "zombie apocalypse" is a legitimate "In the News" item. Some guy ate off another guy's face in Florida earlier in the week and this morning some other guy was arrested for killing his roommate and eating his brains and heart. It's dark and bizarre and a testimony to the power of the collective unconscious, IMO. People love zombie movies? Well God can deliver that shit. Let's try loving peace while we're at it and do some good.

My NOT vegetarian dad (who has no concept of where meat really comes from, I think) is having scallops for dinner and is trying to convince me that it's not really an animal. "It's like a barnacle on the side of a pier, Aim." When I explained they had their own rich social structure and were indeed animals he said "It's just like a scoop of fat from the belly of a whale. Or it's like a whale's whitehead that was popped!"
Totally selling me on that one. :p

My little boy turned five yesterday, and he adores chihuahuas, specifically baby chihuahuas. Every time he throws a coin in a fountain or blows off a dandelion, he wishes for a baby chihuahua. A baby golden chihuahua, to match his golden blond hair. Of course, at this point, there is no way in the world we are getting another dog. So I bought a stock image of a baby chihuahua and made him a birthday card in Photoshop. When I gave it to him last night, he was completely and genuinely thrilled with it. After opening his other presents, he picked the card up again, and gazed at it with starry eyes, and turned to me and said, "Oh, Mom! I thank you for this card! I love it so much!" We tacked it up over his bed. :D
