Hot on the heels of the Suedeheads getting on telly (see posts, passim), there's another high-profile quiz show featuring Morrissey. Angela Rutledge, formerly of Morrissey-Tour.com, last week recorded an edition of Mastermind - her specialist subject is Morrissey. It will be on TV late September. The questions were a mixed bag - some easy, some very tough. By the way, Morrisseytour.com is now a Finnish online poker site:eek:

Just checked the interactive stuff, and tonight we have specialist subjects of:The Life of Noor-Inayet Khan, Ferdinand Magellan, Edith Wharton and The Mod Movement in Britain.
Next week (26th) it's Late Stuart Age, Steely Dan, The Spenser novels of Robert Parker and The Life and Career of Joe Frazier, so it may well be on S&G night - that would be well timed.
If Angela replies, I'll let you know.

I tuned in last night just as the bloke began his chosen subject questions on the "Mod Movement". I answered about 90% of them! I'm no Mod myself (or "Mod Sophisticate" as Morrissey puts it), so was quite chuffed to do so well. It soon dawned on me though that his questions were a peice of piss.
I once worked with the bloke who stumbled on the "Your Occupation?" question. It's often on the TV Clip programmes that they do from time to time. Having said that, I'd have had to think about what we actualy did in that job!

I got three wrong. No idea about the violin on one song, I said Tim Burton, not Broad and didn't know the name of the judge.
Also, I said Stretford for the first question as to where he lived, but must not have heard it properley as it must have said ''early days' or something as the answer was Hulme:o

Maladjusted – wide to receive
Teachers are afraid – Shostakovich
Jonathan Ross (I thought Jules Holland)
I said Steven Street, not Steve Lillywhite
I wonder why she chose the life and SOLO career, not his whole career as her specialist subject?
She did really well on the general knowledge round as well.
But that bloke simply learned more stuff about the great fire of London. I pity the bloke who knows about Chichester Cathedral - of all the things to gen up on...

5. Morrissey quoted as saying that his "secondary school in Manchester wasn't education, it was all violence and brutality". Which school was this?
6. Morrissey ran a UK fanclub for which American early punk band, he also had a booklet about them published in 1981?
7. Who directed the video for the 1988 single Suedehead which shows Morrissey's walking around sites in Fairmount, Indiana, the home town of James Dean?
8. The Teachers Are Afraid of The Pupils, from the album Southpaw Grammar uses a theme from which work by Shostakovich?
9. In which single from the album Bona Drag is Morrissey's first name followed by push offs, spelled out letter by letter?

11. In his song First Of The Gang To Die, what is the name of the silly boy who was the first to do time and the first of the gang to die?
12. In 1996 court case when the former Smiths drummer Mike Joyce successfully sued for outstanding royalties, what was the name of the judge who called Morrissey devious, truculent and unreliable?
13. Who produced Morrissey's album's Vauxhall and I, Southpaw Grammar and Maladjusted?
14. In an interview with Ian Birch for Smash Hits magazine which writer did Morrissey say become a sort of companion from childhood and that his adoration for him increased with age?

I've noticed how he usually asks contestants scuriilous questions. When the guy who did Richard Nixon was on he dragged up the whole 'bombing Vietnam' thing! tsh!
