I started with The Queen Is Dead and slowly figured out most of the songs. Then I moved on to “The Smiths” record which was unbelievably difficult. To this day I still haven’t learned how to play all the songs. Johnny Marr is an amazing guitarist and that’s evident even in this early demo for the song Handsome Devil.

It could be a demo, but it sounds more like an early live recording to me.

Could you please provide more details on this ''demo''
is it one of the mixes from the Troy Tate sessions?

It doesn't sound like it. Like Peter said, it sounds like a live version with the crowd noise stripped out, but I swear I went through at least 20+ boot versions that I have and I couldn't find a match.

I have a few songs from this same session. It's included in a file labeled Rough Trade demo tapes but according to Stephane's site it's not actually the demo tape.

Here's the link. http://www.passionsjustlikemine.com/smiths-tate.htm

scroll down to TATE3 set.

EDIT: All the songs sound a different from the Tate 1 and Tate 2 set. I can upload it if anyone wants them and doesn't have them already.

That would be splendid - I haven't heard that particular session.

I did. They are definitely different to the Tate sessions I have. Thanks for uploading.
