I will be doing my best to stay off of solo once the tour starts so I am surpirsed by the setlist night one of the Camden Roundhouse..Will anyone else be obstaining??

I wouldn't be surprised if the setlist is almost identical so the US tour from the Fall..But if all six shows start with Stop Me like they did in NYC..so help me

There was an earlier thread somewhere debating this same predicament.

I highly recommend you stay away from solo before the concerts. The element of surprise beats all other elements of knowing what to expect hands down.

I tried to do so when I saw the 5 NY shows last year and the Phila and NJ show. It's incredibly difficult. Of course no one wants to be out of the loop (ha-ha-ha) when queuing at the show you're attending. :)

Needless to say, I failed to stay off so-low. :D

I'm going to try.

I'll look into off topic so NO spoilers in there, please :)

being a relatively new Morrissey fan the dilemma I'm facing is whether I ignore the internet and get the surprises or read the set list so I can familiarize myself with certain songs he might play from Kill Uncle, Maladjusted or other B-sides I wouldnt recognise.

Mmm,tricky!
I'd say just wait till the gig:it is SO much better not knowing what's coming up

You can always catch up with anything you didn't know afterwards.

if history is any indicator Kill Uncle is retired and Maladjusted is pretty much history except for Trouble Loves Me..Personally if he played Satan Rejcted My Soul I may lose my shizzle..:guitar:

I did, I do and it didn't ruin anything about the Moz experience :guitar:

I'm as guilty as anyone. First night of the tour I'm checking the set list online. It's like not being able to wait until Christmas.

I too have thought about avoiding this site before the London gigs. It won't happen, but there is no doubt that the good old days of letting the night take it's twists and turns, had more magic.

Before every tour I tell myself I won't take a peek at the set lists on solo, but I always do!

I probably will just wait. I just hate it at concerts when the band plays a song, everybody else goes mental and Im racking my brains trying to recognise it.
Although it was the otherway round when Arcade Fire played Still Ill.

That's a predicament indeed. I discovered Moz in early 2004 and saw him live 3 times that year without fully knowing his back catalogue and I can't believe some of the gems I hadn't realised he played! So my recommendation would be to familiarise yourself with the songs.

As for this year, I'm staying clear of Solo so the set at Lille will be exciting. Then I'm hoping for a few changes during London. But then I wished that for the G-Mex gigs so I'm pessimistic.

Hahaha yes I danced like a loon at Alexandra Palace whilst all about me looked nonplussed. A proud moment.

I missed seeing Morrissey twice in 2006, because it took me some time before I really “saw the light”! (…that never goes out…)

I bought YATQ in 2004 and fell for it immediately. And then… nothing.http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/confused/confused0074.gif It was just me and that CD. I didn’t buy any other Moz CDs, I didn’t google “Morrissey” --- I just listened to YATQ over and over and over again. WHY?!! http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/confused/confused0067.gif That’s just not like me! Usually, when I bump into good music, I want to know everything about it right away. But no, that didn’t happen this time, even though this was better than good music. I had some passing crushes on other bands/artists (found a couple of lifetime friends too), but as soon as life kicked me in my teeth, I would rush back into Mozzer’s comforting arms. Figuratively, of course.:p

But hey, I’m fine now! "Hello everyone, my user name is WorkOfArt and I’m a Mozzaholic…"
