....or will it turn out to be another "snakes on a plane" that it just did not live up to the hype.

much of what JJ Abrams does nowadays is total garbage. when i first saw an ad i thought it was a lead in spoof by SNL or something. I had no idea it was a REAL movie. THe acting is pathetic, to be kind!

I have NO interest in seeing this movie, but I will google it after it's been out for awhile to see what the "monster" is.
AND it better be a monster and not some smoke bullshit they pulled in Lost.
Speaking of Lost....I totally miss it. I can't wait for it to come back.

I've seen a couple of previews for it. I'd like to see it, it looks intense and I like to watch scary stuff .
The trailers remind me of War of the Worlds a bit and I know it's not a true story, but I kind of like how it looks/is shot 'real'. I'll be interested in the reviews, and will probably catch it on DVD. I hope it lives up to the 'hype' and isn't some silly horror flick...like, does anyone's shirt fall off? :p
I must say, I can't help but get a feeling of 9/11 watching it 'war', explosions, stairwells, POV, etc. Anyone else? I'm hoping that's just the general feeling of the previews and not representative of the whole movie itself. I wonder how it will 'go over' in the Big Apple.
Nothing will ever be as scary good (right flick at the right time) as The Blair Witch Project  That one got me.

I don't know what this thread is all about, but the headline made me do a double-take because it looked like something straight out of The Onion.
