On the Morrissey Myspace I noticed that THPGU was now available for play. So I decided to rip it. Enjoy.

Nice. Many thanks!

Oh, and RIAA/Decca/UMG/whomever, I've pre-ordered the single. Bite me.

I never noticed that there were strings (or a keyboard pretending to be strings) in the background.

I'm sorry, I don't like the '...grow uuh huh huu uuh whuh huup...' part
(tho it has been stuck in my head since I caught it on Carson :o)

The cowbell doesn't improve on repeated listening either...

it's not a terrible song. not single quality, i don't think. it's catchy though and it'll grow on me. it would be interesting to hear it without the cowbell though.

Il n'y a pas de quoi.

By the way, before I'm attacked for attempting to subvert human civilization as we know it, I'd like to say in advance...:gun:

I very much agree. Musically I find it over-simplistic and very repetitive, and the same applies to the lyrics. I know a lot of people have voiced their horror at the "driving my car/broke my spine" line. And the guitars sound like they were recorded and mixed using GarageBand. Very poor.

EDIT: Sorry, I misread your comment. I thought you said it is a terrible song. Which it is, but I didn't mean to misrepresent your views. I'll leave that for Bill and Hill...

I would wait for a full quality version before faulting the production.

I know what they say about looking on the bright side, but come on, how much better is it really going to be?

Still, your optimism is admirable.

How much better quality do you need? This is a 192kbps MP3 ripped from the promo single! You think that a higher bitrate, or even a lossless version, is going to reveal some production quality that you don't hear in the linked version?

There's no way what I just listened to was anywhere near cd quality.
