Hi all
Is there a SMITHS music video of SWEET AND TENDER HOOLIGAN?
I have looked everywhere, but can only find the Smiths Mexican tribute band CALLED 'Sweet and Tender Hooligans' (Youtube especially is flooded with these guys, who are questionably good-ish, but not what i am looking for)
Help all if possible :-)

Sweet and Tender Hooligans hadn't been released as a single, there is no offical promo video of the song.
The Smiths wasn't very keen on making promo videos, but subsequently they made some (The Boy With The Thorn In His Side, Panic, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, The Queen Is Dead, Girlfriend In A Coma, I Started Something But I Couldn't Finish).

I do not even believe that there is a studio - proper version of the song. It is recorded from the John Peel Radio Show on 12/17/86.

Hmm... technically there SHOULD be one out there SOMEWHERE with Wolverhampton being recorded and all. But other than out, nope.
But then again, it wouldn't be SMITHS then huh? hahaha
So the answer: no.

Exactly & sadly, it deserved a proper recording:guitar:.

Really? I'm sure there is. Have a listen to 'Louder than bombs' album is on there and it doesn't seem to be played live :-)

Buzzetta is right, it isn't a studio recording (on "Louder Than Bombs") it is a John Peel session (i.e. not played live).

I tell you what i really am learning things every-day on this forum service. I have only been an avid supporter of The Smiths since a year or so ago so i am still supping up knowledge.
So what was the Peel Sessions then? Is the song 'Sweet n tend hooligans' a live one then? Or Mixed by John Peel? How is it not studio?
Sorry if i sound thick :-/

John Peel was a famous radio DJ on BBC. The Smiths recorded a collection of songs for his show. Some of these versions can be found on Hatful Of Hollow and many consider these versions to be superior to the album versions. There is a bootleg of the Peel Sessions and also of the Complete BBC Session.
