Gorgeous picture... but why the old picture? Moz is still very good looking... does he need a confidence booster? Corrissey and Mel didn't do a good enough job of that? We must try harder.

Well, you're always right about these things. It makes those promos a little rarer then. I'm not sure I've seen that photo before - it might be one of Linders.

I'm wondering whether this trend of old photos will continue with the new album, I doubt it will .. since everything bar 2 songs on the greatest hits are old songs, makes just as much sense to use old pics. Apparently it's a celebration of past, im sure it'll stop when the new album is due ... it is a nice pic though

But a 4 year old song (say, IBEH) with a 15 year old photo??? These songs are not THAT old. . .the photos he's been using predate them significantly. This first struck me as odd when the image on the '07 t-shirts was one from the '90s. Are old photos of himself Morrissey's new "cover stars"???

While I like the old photos themselves. . .overall, I don't get it.

I really can't understand why he insists of using 10 or 15 years old pics... He's so hot nowadays, much more than back then!! And I don't like that picture because his chest is shaved... His hairy chest is so damn sexy!

Yes it definitely would go with the title. I love to look at any pic of Morrissey but I do so especially love the old ones! Not to say he didn't look gorgeous in October!

That's where I'm ordering them from, too, but aren't they going to do a 5 pounds for all 3 formats offer like they did for "Boy Happy"? If not, then it's crazy expensive for those of us on the wrong side of the exchange rate.

How was it packaged? Not a good idea to have the 7"s shipped from them?

Luckily, my copies were unscathed, but when I placed the order for THPGU just now, I asked them to add an extra stiffener if at all possible.

Aww Comtesse, I love you...but the man is STILL gorgeous. :) That is a great picture, though...his eyes look great. The only thing that seems odd to me is how stubbly he is. We rarely get to see him so unshaven that it almost looks like one of Di's photoshops! :eek:

Nice cover, if indeed this is the genuine article. I like it much better than the cover of Ringleader,..or Quarry, for that matter. Not that I have anything against aged Moz, just wish he'd chosen different shots.

Speaking of devils, we were trying to find an afterparty after a Moz show somewhere in the southwest of the U.S. in 2002. We asked this stoner chick if she knew where El Diablo (the name of the club hosting the afterparty) was. She teetered back and forth slightly and then simply pointed to the ground. Brilliant!

As for the sleeve, it is luvverly, save for the no-neck angle. Based on his m.o. this decade and his reactions to the calendars I make using current photos, I'm resigned to Morrissey using old promo photos. Maybe 15 years from now he'll be using photos shot in 2008!

I'm trying to control myself since it's not the frink thread but I think he looks insanely gorgeous on this pic...:o I don't care if it was taken by Jake or not (I like the honey pic too, a lot), and altough I find it a bit weird that he uses an old photo, I kind of understand it, firstly because the album will be a look-back (though it's the single sleeve, isn't it?) and secondly because we've never seen this pic before... So, it's :horny: and I shut up now.

As I have mentioned before, this is a luvverly photo save for the no-neck camera angle. It occurred to me that this angle is useful in hiding double-chins. I blelieve this trick was employed to help make Dianne Chandler, former Playboy Playmate (1966), look youthful in photos taken in the noughties. She wrote reviews of Playboy vids at avn, and this hide-the-double-chin photo ran with every review she penned. I always thought this was an awkward angle.

I also learned the camera trick of helping a certain media mogul/NYE host look youthful was to saturate the picture with light. If you fill the picture with light, no shadows exist to emphasize wrinkles. It's like make-up without the make-up.

But I prefer Moz the way he is NOW -- unretouched, eye crinkles, and all. The only thing is that he should stay out of the sun. Kinda too late, but he shouldn't continue to ravage his skin with the carcinogenic sunrays.

I've not been on the forums for a week or so so not sure if this has been mentioned or not (and i can't be bothered to check, before one of you smart-asses posts a link to another similat thread...) but the HMV site has a different cover to the new single than the one that was featured on the main page a while back. instead of morrissey in his West Ham t-shirt, it has a picture of him in a swimming pool (i think.. pic is too small to tell).
