Can someone tell me what album(s) What She Said appears on? I can't seem to find it. I have what seems to be a live version.

Meat Is Murder, track 4.

Nice name. I expect big things from you.

It's also on Rank, and on some 7" freebie from NME in 1985. Those are all of its official releases.

See here (http://www.passionsjustlikemine.com/smiths-l.htm).

Ok I probably have the Rank version then - thank you. I think some of Morrissey's songs are much much better live. I also have a live version of Ask which I heard before I heard the studio version. Now, I can't even listen to the studio version because it sounds horrible as compared to the live version which is faster in tempo.

I noticed that Morrissey fans discuss songs in reference to the albums they appeared on. I always thought I was a hardcore fan but coming to this forum has changed my mind because I really know nothing about albums just the songs.

Thanks again for your help and also for the compliment. I was actually going to create a name based on the song I Like You; I'm glad I didn't ;)

Well, a lot of it does depend on which version you hear first. I heard the studio versions before I heard Rank, and so I think that those live versions are generally inferior to the studio ones.

Just poke around on that Passions Just Like Mine site to which I'd linked in the previous post. You'll have it memorized in no time.

Damn right! That's my territory :D But I'm willing to share.

The Rank version also has a different beginning on it compared to the studio version.

Is it the Rank version which begins with Rubber Ring and fades into What She Said? If so then I really like it especially Morrissey's little cough as the two tracks merge :)

Love PTxx.

When I first listened to Rank I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the Rubber Ring intro. It sounded even better than the studio version, and I wanted to hear the whole song live.

Did The Smiths ever perform Rubber Ring live in it's entirety? And if so, is there a bootleg of it anywhere?

No, but Morrissey has done it solo. There's a version on Who Put the 'M' in Manchester.

(Surely this question, particularly by this user, is a piss-take? If not, then my response follows.)

Son, they've got this thing now, called Google. When you're online sometime--oh--wait--

You know, your post would have made a lot more sense if it had been the first response in the thread. But since it's not, what's the point? Do you feel better now? We already have someone here who fills the role that you're trying to fill.

Miss Dave,town gossip,

Morrissey-Solo members are faster, more detailed, and more reliable than Google....

I thought your contra-Kewpie posts were sounding pretty unhinged. You're seeing her everywhere you look now, aren't you?

Deep breaths, self-righteous person. Deep breaths.

Boy how times change!!! Back in my day, we had to travel MILES and MILES (uphill, no less) to search through dusty record stores for albums and cassettes.

The Smiths were still together then, and my idiot boyfriend always said that Morrissey could never survive without Marr...
