Oh what a beautiful song! With the upright bass and soothing melody...I love it! And the line "I've been stabbed in the back, so many many times, I don't have any skin..." always makes me melt.

Hearing that song live was just so wonderful. It was such a great experience. I'm so glad it was on his setlist. Which by the way cracks me up because it's listed as "Why don't ya F?"...hence my sig

I love everything about this song.

The understated production, the strange 'oooh' backing vocals, the lyrics, Morrissey's voice, the atmosphere of it all.

I think Boz played this a few times at his solo shows.
Someone once asked him why, considering it was an Alain Whyte composition.
Boz claimed that altho Alain wrote it, it was Boz who advised against the song's original 'rock' arrangement!
Personally, I've always quite liked, but never really loved, this song...

What's not to like?
My favourite, although I consider Symphonies to be the best. Why... holds a special place in my heart. I love that he's playing it again.

10, no doubt.

Oh thank God for Boz then. I dislike the other version.

A 10 from me.
The live version of this song is far superior than the studio. Hope the upcoming setlists include it!

Interesting. Never heard that story, but I had wondered why both Boz and Alain both seemed to "own" the song. The lads working it out...

8. I don't like the alt-country live arrangement, because of the way Morrissey attacks the lyrics. It's more like he's stabbing at the words these days, and I really liked the lazy sibilance ("the glazz hidden in the grazz") of the way he sang it on the studio version. That said, this song contains one of my top-5 Moz lyrics ("I've been stabbed in the back so many, many times I don't have any skin. . .but that's just the way it goes.") so I'm partial to it despite whatever it may lack musically.
