I don't know if this has been posted before but TM is offering discount tickets right now for the New York shows, tix at $ 45.- and you need a password (which is not "greatesthits" this time).
Are ticket sales thát bad or what??

Well there have only been around 400 tickets sold for the SC show on Nov 4

Fine. That's less competition through which to elbow my way up to the stage.

i just got off the phone with a friend of mine who works at The Tabernacle in Atlanta and she said that less than 500 tickets sold for that show on Nov 5 . So there are still plenty of good tickets available there as well

I am disapointed that the ticket sales for ny seem to be not so great. :( I would like Moz to have a great big crowd every night like he deserves. I know with less people there it makes it easier to get close etc but I would really like him to have a full house to sing to so he knows he is still really loved. Does that make sense?

Yes, it does make sense. I feel the same way, and I remember feeling it very acutely in Radio City in 2004. I was so glad when the lights went down and the place seemed largely full. :)

As I said in another thread (and I'm sorry to be a stuck record, but I'm really cheesed off!) this whole ticket business i suspect is a racket, a scam. According to Ticketmaster, within 20 minutes of the internet pre-sale for the Miami show, supposedly the entire Pit as well as the first 21 rows of the Orchestra section are sold out/unavailable for sale. Give me a break!! Moz is NOT that popular in Miami -- his last show here in 2004 was maybe half-full.

They never, ever sell the best seats in the presale.
Wait for the public ticketsale and better seats will come up.
Pit tix will go very quickly of course.
Presale for NY sold balcony seats, but floor tickets are still available now.
So my guess is, some people will stare down from their seat to a half empty floor below them...

believe it or not...it's not first come gets best seats. it's fairly random. pit seats always...for all shows...come up every so often throughout the entire on sale period. the same goes to all good seats. if you want good seats, do not buy on the first onsale date unless you really have a GREAT seat. if they didn't come up for you, then visit back often..everyday a few times a day... and wait for the good seats to become available. it may be a few days...it may be a few weeks.

it appears they only sold about 900 tickets for the Royal Oak Michigan show (venue fits 1,700).
i come up with this number because when you go to tickets.com to search for tickets, the GA tickets are numbered. i know my number on first sale date was around 200 and it slowly climbed up to where it is now. so it looks like another North American tour of half-filled venues??? perhaps.
Hammerstein would have sold out if he didn't piss off thousands of people with the whole MSG incident.

I think a ton of people could hop on here and say the same about the presales...it's hard to not get a ticket then though. But twice now this year I've gotten a presale ticket and then for the hell of it called the venue itself during the public sale - both times I got considerably better seats than anything offered via the presale.

yes , i was highly pissed after TM somewhat crashed @ 10 and then rippled its way back to life a few minutes later only to be offered Row T left ?
i agree theres way to much speculation over the miami show from ticket brokers and i cant believe that just 8 minutes into "presale" that fans bought up that many tickets either .

....Perhaps Moz would experience better ticket sales if he toured somewhere else that hadn't just experienced a 20,000 show tour. Y'know, a whole great big world exists outside of America...and it's actually quite nice to boot. I dare say there might even be a Morrissey fan or two lurking out there  ;)

A major contribution to poor ticket sales may be because there is too much going on in NYC during the month of October.
Rangers and other concerts at the Garden
and lest we forget....
The World Series starts on October 24th and runs to (if neccessary) to November 1st.
That was a major factor in choosing which show in NYC I was going to go to. I did not want to miss the WS and I know that there is a good chance that I will be going if the Yankees are in it the final dance this year.
There is a lot going on in October here.

I hate to say it, but the Yanks or the Mets aren't gonna be in the World Series this year. The Mets might not even be in the playoffs. The Angels will beat the Yanks in the first round this year. Like always...

I didn't want to hijack this into a baseball thread because if the Mets are somehow in it then the Mets are hosting I believe on the weekend dates so that would cause mass transit to hit a grind on the 7 trains and the usual Woodmere and or Penn Station stops. They are now tied with Philly. I believe they will limp into the playoffs but will be eliminated after the first round. It does not matter that they cannot beat the Nats since the Nats are not going to the playoffs.
Yanks though I don't know. Yanks are headed in with the best record in baseball since the All Star break. Since then they have an almost 680% winning percentage. I am a strong believer in momentum carrying a team. Look at Boston in 2004.... Look at Detroit going to the dance in 2006. Anaheim (or TLAAOA) always cause me to raise an eyebrow but right now the Yankees are in the best position possible to play them.

I did the presale for when he was in NYC at Radio City in 2004 and we were in like Row T on the floor, all the way in the back. We still saw ok, but you're absolutely right. Those presale things are a joke too as is the whole Ticketmaster system...

I'm planning to come from France but ain't got any ticket yet!

So where can we find this mysterious password? Any idea?

With the way it appears... the best discount may be converting your Euros to Dollars upon arrival. Head to box office of the Hammerstein and buy a ticket there. With the exchange you will not pay shipping, service charges or anything else and the basic ticket will be about $35 US to you.

Thats a nice opinion to have... I have to admit... If I was presented with front row seats at Morrissey or a seat in the Mayors box at Yankee Stadium for a World Series game....
Well..
I promise I would listen to Morrissey on my iPod on the way to the game.

I've been looking for the NY password for Ticketmaster all week now. No luck here. I've called the Hammerstein, Ticketmaster, Live Nation, friends, everyone. The Hammerstein said it was generated by the promoters and was given out at their discretion. If anyone has any other ideas, or if you find out the password, please post!

How do you know that the password is only for executives and other VIP's? Where did you hear that? The password for LA is for the general public to get 1/2 price tickets for the weekday shows. It's easy to find everywhere online, but no one has found the one for NY yet.
CHIVAS doesn't work for NY, but thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Nearly had a heart attack there! I've just been on Ticketmaster and there are only 2nd level mezz left for Saturday night so I wouldn't hang on for the password. I am coming over from Scotland and I just decided to try for tickets and couldn't get any general admission and then the 1st level balcony dissapeared when I went back. Had to get tickets for Friday instead. I didn't think they were selling that well from the way folks were talking on here. Looks like Saturday will be full.

Not true. I paid with my credit card, never mailed the tickets back and I got refunded when the MSG concert was canceled..It was automatically refunded.
I have had to mail tickets back in the past though for can canceled events. I guess in this case though they didnt' require that??

Really ... when I called they told me a refund would not have been issued unless I mailed the tickets back in... perhaps that is because they were to originally reschedule? If so it would have saved me the certified mail fee.

Yeah I'm being very honest. I still have my original tickets. I HAVE had to send tickets back in the past for other concerts to get a refund. I don't think it would be because it was due to be rescheduled...if that were the case, they would've said hold onto the tickets we have (and I think that's why I kept onto them). But I never received a phone call or email asking they be sent back. I just looked at my credit card statement the next time around, and I noticed my money was automatically refunded. (shrug)

Are people forgetting that we're living in a totally screwed up economy with gasoline in most places going for more than $3/gallon? (I won't mention all of the other wonderful economic delights most people are suffering through right now.)
Not every show is going to sell out, especially during the Autumn touring season, but the promoters want to sell as many tickets as they can.
Morrissey seems to be truly enjoying touring at this moment, so I'm not going to worry about his bottom line. (He has people for that.) He wouldn't be there if he had to set out a collection plate and hope for spare change. I'm just going to enjoy the music and bask in his glow for a bit.
