@ the show in Myrtle Beach on 7/21/07 , my daughter smuggled a gorgeous rose into the venue and during "everyday is like sunday" Moz took it lovingly from her hand and held on to it for the rest of the song before resting it on the bass drum for the rest of the evening , admiring and stroking its petals throughout the night , but the kicker was a few songs late during " how soon is now" morrissey returned to take her outstretched hand and pull her onstage for a bow and a great big hug before instructing his stage security to make sure she gets back to the front where she was .

Needless to say it was a glorious evening for eVe that night .

quitcher braggin'!

Just kidding. :p Nice story.

Also, about the flowers: I've never seen anyone accomplish getting more than one or two into the venue. Bouquets are nearly impossible, I think because the man doesn't like them anymore -- they're beautiful, but they make the floor way too slippery

sorry but i must brag as it was eVe's 1st Moz show and she had waited for all of her 15 years for a chance to see him and then to have him accept her flower AND pull her onstage for a hug was to say the least a stellar moment for her even though it was her 208th concert overall , no other concert moment could compare ( and shes been onstage with quite a few folks over the years)

I think it's a good idea but at the Dallas show, they wouldn't allow ANY flowers into the venue. They did allow you to take a few in at the Austin show though.

It's been mentioned by various on this thread that it's not generally a wise idea to invest in a bouquet of flowers. Mozzer has venue security restrict flowers. I think it is because he's slipped on them in the past. He had said so, and I actually saw him slip on stage at the Palladium because of the floral debris. So if you must bring flowers, don't bring more than one or two.

I miss flowers at the concerts, and I miss effeminate 80s Moz. Oh well, I'll get over my nostalgia.

ive never drawn on fabric, only paper. and i use pencil, i dont paint. most of my jeans and pants are tight-ish. tight enough where i dont think i could fit a drawing in them w/out it being noticeable. maybe i could buy a pair of Hammer pants off ebay! haha. :p

I could possibly roll it up and stick it through my bra. or tape it to my tummy and just say its one of my fat belly rolls! haha :D

Uh, we had a bouquet of flowers at the Austin show and there were plenty of others there as well. We threw ours onstage but be forewarned, security is very very quick to nab the flowers off the stage but in our minds we like to think that Morrissey was appreciative.

So I'm just saying if you want to go ahead and bring a few in and give em a heave, works out your arm muscles to boot....

Use a letter size notebook and make your poster so you hold the book open, if you're sitting close. Gives you 11x17. Or, go to the fabric store and get a big piece of white muslin fabric and paint your lettering on it. Roll it up small and carry in a purse, or tucked into your jacket or something. That's good for balconies.

In july Morrissey accepted a picture from me of a tombstone with my name on it that i had taken in Tombstone, Az.
He found it very interesting and nodded in recognition and prominently placed it on the drum riser for the evening.

Yes , use your torso as a canvas and then there is nothing to actually carry in but yourself .

Im gonna go find a one of the folks that sell flowers by the freways/intersections and have them come set up shop out side the Palladium, that way atleast them ten days they'll really sell flowers. I think Moz fans would buy if they saw the person already there.....and so the journey begins....any request of what type of flowers????

wow thats a great idea! they'll be sure to sell lots and lots of flowers! however, it'd be horrible if the palladium decides to not let people bring them in, especially if they see a lot of them, like after the first night or something...and that'd be sad for the people selling flowers too.

but anyway... do gladioli and daffodils for sure :) some lovely red roses would be nice too!

ive heard that all of the stuff thrown/handed on stage is collected (by security?) and given to morrissey at the end of the show, or probably later on, maybe waiting for him in the bus or something to see the next day...either way im sure he gets it.

oh and of course all the letters expounding on morrissey's sexiness is framed and mounted on his wall :D

At the Sunday Fillmore show someone near me had 2 flowers to give Moz. I am not sure what kind of flower it was but not Rose or Lilly, maybe a glad but not sure.

Anyway I didn't see the transfer but I later saw them laying on the stage next to the front monitor speaker. They laid there all night until the end when the security guy between the barrier and stage handed them to someone in the crowd.

Moz showed no interest in them.

Maybe it has to do with who is giving them to him.

At the TJ show he did take flowers that were handed to him, but every single time he threw them back into the crowd. He once took a wrapped single rose from someone in the front, smelled it, and threw it right back into the audience. It was heartbreaking to watch...why does he do that? It seems like a slap in the face. :(

i dont really think it seems like a slap in the face, it'd be a little useless to keep all the flowers he get from people. it makes more sense for him to take it, smell it, touch it, and then throw it to a fan who will obviously keep it forever because M laid his lovely fingers on it! :D i think its nice of him to throw it back, he shows his appreciation by taking it in the first place, you know?

Maybe you're right, I'm just a sentimental fool...I guess I just think of the trouble people have gone through to get him flowers, pick them out, spend money on them, haul them to the show, and they are buying them for him to enjoy. If I were a fan that he took flowers from, I'd be happier seeing him smell them and set them gently next to the drum kit! Something a little more appreciative than throwing them immediately to the wolves in the crowd. Unfortunately, I don't think all fans would think like you (and I) and "keep it forever because M laid his lovely fingers on it"...(quietly points to the main page where the "fan" is selling the signed Chivas jersey). Despite what I think about the flowers, Moz is a sweetheart...he does seem to make a real effort to take/touch/acknowledge the gifts and signs that people hold up for him. No wonder we love him! :)

aw that was a very sentimental post :)
you are right, though, too, because i didnt really think from the flower-giver's point of view - i would feel happier as well if i saw him smell the flower and lay it down for safe keeping (or even handed back to ME!). a delicate flower would most likely just be torn apart and damaged in the crowd. but then again, i'd be happy even if he just NOTICED that i was holding a flower, but like you said, its great to see him make an effort to recieve the gifts and such among the crowd...oh, if only everyone thought like this and was gentle and kind...once again moz was right: what a pleasant world it would be if we were all charming and not violent and arrogant. ;)

Have you guys ever watched the "Assembly Rooms in Derby" gig? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FD1uWHsEd9s the flowers are simply a "prop" if you will. Anywho, I got a bout 2-3 flower guys lined up and will be outside the venue selling flowers, not sure as to what type but, there will be some.

Yeah I've seen that gig, I have it on my DVR in fact! But I thought he has said in interviews that he doesn't want to be remembered as the young flower waving guy he once was? Hence the reason why we no longer see him swinging flowers over his head (I would LOVE it if he did it though, especially to This Charming Man or Handsome Devil)? Doesn't he always say he's changed and he's now a much different person? I suspect that's part of the reason he takes flowers and throws them back into the crowd. But of course I applaud your efforts for getting some flower vendors outside the venue!

No, not dorky, that's actually the sweetest thing I've heard of in a long time.

I always wanted to bring daffodils, now who's the dork?:D I'm ruined from watching concert footage where the stages were practically gardens. When he hits Chicago, it's usually the Aragon which means cruel security. No flowers or even candy gets past the doors. But now with this Waukegan show, I think some folks should be able to sneak in a flower or two.
