I just grabbed a pair! Good seats, Row L - Orchestra (floor).
I can't friggin' wait!! I was at this venue for a Strokes concert and was all the way near the back of the ORCH seating (row EE). I am twice as close now!!
Plus, this is going to be my wife's surprise birthday gift.

I also got a pair of tickets in row K, though I think I am going to eBay them and try for something closer when the official sale starts up.

Row K is the 10th row...so whether you find better tix or not, you still have excellent seats.

they weren't offering me anything closer than row K so i'm gonna wait it out, especially since this will be my last show of the tour. i might just have to shell out some coin for seats in the front.

i sat there since 9:50 with two different computers at the same time, checking, rechecking the website, and the instant it came up as "find tickets" i did it, but the best i could get was 13th row, so i snagged em up.
what happened to the first couple of rows?
do they save them for the regular sale or something?

Best tickets are usually reserved for the regular onsale date. Presale almost always dispenses mediocre to shitty seats.

anybody holding out for front rows?
you got more balls than i do

I'm hoping to sell the ones I got today on eBay to fund better seats down the road. Pretty sick cycle, but whatever.
DC is looking like the last night of the tour now, so what the hell.

You never know. Wolf Trap presale got me second row, center.

they are up to row R now. Is it worth it to buy these seats or wait till Saturday?

Hmph. It got me 9th row, stage right. And that was about 2 minutes into the presale. I didn't know that Ticketmaster sometimes randomizes selections, so I didn't think to keep re-searching for better seats.

Well, for example, the DAR presale actually began at about 10:52, so I was able to snatch some of the first available (still, they were 11th row, center). The Wolf Trap show started selling early as well...which is how I lucked out.
Funny, but the first tix I was offered on Ticketmaster for DAR were row K, but all the way against the wall! Obviously not as good as the seats I was presented with on my second search, a couple minutes later.

does anyone know where the closer tickets went? I'm very surprised that nothing closer than row L has shown up on eBay.

I'm still up in the air about this show. if I go it'll be a last minute decision. if I DO decide to head down there though, can anyone recommend hotels near the venue? maybe one that you're staying at? thanks.

I could do this, but I decided to end my tour in Baltimore. After an awesome week in NYC and that super-small venue in Baltimore, I don't want to end it in a seated venue with a bad rep and strict security. Doubt I'd be able to enjoy it fully, would rather end on a high note.
To whoever is going, have fun!

anyone ever been at this place before? obviously if i get a ticket now it'll be pretty far back, but its been my experience that at seated venues, no one really stays in their seat anyway, and if you go in a pack, you can rush the front no problem w/out security catching you.
still deciding......

has anyone ever bought tix last minute at DAR? they evidently don't have a true box office...
also, what time does their willcall/ticket booth open? (i assume doors are at 7 if the show starts at 8?)

also, if you look on ticketmaster right now, they are still selling some orchestra seats (row AA, mostly). but then there are those last chance $19 seats that they are selling as well. the plan, so far, is to just go there and try to get good last minute seats, but if that doesn't pan out, i'll just get cheap ones and move further down if there are empty areas.

:( Why would I possibly go on this thread?!?!? I am so f'n weak when it comes to Moz. I've told myself that after the 5 Hammerstein shows, my time with the tour was over. This thread is making me think about going! ARGHHHHHHH! Must....get...off....thread...now!" :D:rolleyes:

get out of my freaking head, haha. im having the exact same dilemma right now. infact, im gonna go sleep on it, and hope that Moz comes to me in a dream and tells me the right thing to do.

HAHA! :D Good luck...let me know if that helps. If it does, I'm going under my desk at work right now and hoping Moz tells me what to do. It's always a tough decision. I should be grateful that my biggest problem today is should I go or not...BUT it is seriously all I've been thinking about for the past hour now. And now that I will continue stressin over the decision until I either decide to head down there or it becomes too late to make it to D.C...in which case, I'll just be kicking myself.

For anyone who has been there before...do you know how security works for the first few rows? I'm sure they check your ticket multiple times to assure that the right ticketholders are in those seats, but do they give you a wrist band or stamp or anything?
How easy would it be to switch off if 1 person sat up there for the opener then passed off the stub etc to someone else who would use the seat for Moz?
Let me know please.

November 2, 2007, 05:48 PM
i would think you could get away with that, since the moment that moz hits the stage there is a mad rush and crush up front. if i remember correctly, the only 'hard' part is getting into the floor area at all - once you're in, i think you're golden. or at least, that's how it's been the last time.

I'll be bringing a camera...that's it. Entering the building, security was pretty lax the last time I went to a show there. And as far as in the seating area, I was back in row EE and not a single security guard passed me buy in 2 hours. They seemed more concerned about keeping people out of the aisles than anything else.

what time is everyone showing up tonight?
SparkleBoy
November 2, 2007, 06:52 PM
Well, show starts at 8 and it is an "assigned" seating vnue, so I really don't think it matters. I am planning on taking the Metro in (Farragut West), and stopping in at the Art Gallery bar & grille on I St before heading down to DAR.
