Not Right in the Head
May 17, 2007, 04:22 PM
Since I brought this up on another thread (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showthread.php?t=72830), I figured we all ought to come clean and reveal our eBay IDs to each other, unless you consider that a trade secret. I've long had my suspicions about who's who; now I'd like to see whether I'm right.
I'm not keeping mine hidden. I'm tibbetts (http://myworld.ebay.com/tibbetts).

It always freaks me out to see my old threads bumped. And why wasn't it archived, anyway? Aren't threads archived after 3 months without a post? Maybe the process isn't automated.
But thanks, nowherefast944. I've seen you over there.

I'm sure you have, dick! :D
I haven't bid on much Morrissey stuff for several months now. I've moved on to Sinead O'Connor. And don't you DARE outbid me on those!

Good. :D I think I got ripped off on that Sinead promo DVD--it's not a factory-pressed copy, but I don't know enough about that record label's promos to know what to look for to authenticate it. :(

She has two in-print DVDs; this was a promo-only release for her most recent album. I got it just to see whether it had a live track that hasn't been released yet (there are 6 others from that same show that have been released, and I just had to find the seventh!) It is, in fact, on there, but only a snippet. I have a bad feeling that the video is the same one that was posted on Amazon when the album came out.
Oh, and since we're on the subject, if anyone ever finds a copy of these early Sinead CD singles ("Mandinka", "(I Want Your) Hands on Me," or "Jump in the River"), please sell them to me! Each one goes for >$40-50. :(

I have seen misfit919 before but don't know who it is. If I'm not mistaken, we had a bidding war before.
And I have bought stuff from stillilltrading.

I've bought from both, and they're both very good.
IIRC, misfit919 is the one who dropped >$2500 on a Gary Numan 7" a year or so ago. I'm pretty sure I'm repeating myself here.

All I know is that he buys damn near every copy of "Barbarism" CD that I need, then resells it for ever-higher prices! I don't know how he does it--he uses practically no descriptions for his items.

You can do a barbarism cd yourself. Just go to my site, download the cover, print :)
I won't tell anybody.

Mine is: everydayslikesunday (surprise,surprise)
Not that I use e-bay that much anymore, been sold too much crap which was described as 'mint', although it was e-bay that got me hooked on collecting. I'm more a fan of record fairs now, at least you can see the item before handing over your hard earned. Plus it's a great way to make contacts.

Has anybody noticed any wonkiness lately with the shipping fees that are listed in the daily search status emails? Yesterday I saw one listing with a shipping price of 17 million pounds, and another for a few thousand, but clicking on each item's listing links showed the correct shipping price. I was even going to post one in the overpriced items thread, until I realized that it was an eBay bug. :D

i've noticed that too.
there were some items in australia which I wanted but the shipping was about 58 million pounds. I shyed away fearing the seller would take it seriously.

I have recently noticed problems in shipping prices while using garagesale, a usually wonderful mac program for uploading eBay auctions.
I am getting ready to list another 50-100 items before June. Nothing Morrissey related though so I do not believe any of you would be interested.
