hi Doc
if you are buying from a shop then they tend to be a lot higher than ebay (but the shops are worth checking before bidding tbh, eil.com is expensive but on odd occasions you can pick up a bargain)
the 7" singles I'd pay around £10 - £15.
The 10" singles (are rumoured to be only 300 copies each but either they are changing hands a lot or this number is a very low estimate) I'd pay around £15 to £20 for each.
The 12" promos whilst not as colourful are still nice (& collectable to me).

Hold On To Your Friends promo 7" is the rarest of the bunch, followed by Certain People I Know promo 7". Half the allotted amount were pressed of the Hold On To Your Friends by accident. Certain People I Know is so rare probably because it has one of the best sleeves. I heard it was a gift to Morrissey from EMI for his birthday, but it's release is much closer to Christmas than his birthday.
All the Have-A-Go Merchant UK promo 7"s I've heard of were mispressed with Boxers and Have-A-Go Merchant instead of Have-A-Go Merchant and Whatever Happens, I Love You.
Despite the low numbers associated with the 10"s, I see them going for give-away prices these days. We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful is the rarer of the two 10"s.
Our Frank and My Love Life are the rarer of the retro-sleeved promo 7"s.
Not asked, but the promo 12"s look good as a set and would be worth picking up. The Motorcycle Au Pair Boy Special Etched Disc UK promo 12" for Interesting Drug is far and away the rarest of the 12"s. The Suedehead is numbered to 1,000 and would probably be the second rarest of the 12"s, although I always do see quite a few for sale.

it's not a Dutch pressing this one? (the one with Wilde and "Motorcycle" on it). But maybe you talk about an other one...

Are you saying Suedehead 12" was limited to 1000? Blimey. In that case I have both of those rarities in my box of tricks coming up on Ebay next week.

You don't have either. the Suedehead I speak of is the UK promo which came in a blue diecut stickered sleeve which was individually numbered.
The Motorcycle Au Pair Boy Interesting Drug UK promo 12" I speak of came in a dark brown die cut sleeve. The record label makes no mention of Morrissey, and the serial number is SPM29 (Steven Patrick Morrissey, age 29).

Here are some regular and mispressed Special Etched Disc versions of Interesting Drug. The ones on the left are the regular 2 track pressing, on the right the misspressed ones with just 1 track. I've also seen these with white Special Etched Disc stickers on the sleeve.

This is a test pressing for the etched portion of the record. There is no music on the reverse.

An "experimental test etch" for a reverse of the Oscar Wilde image that was not used.

Here are the both together.

The Motorcycle Au Pair Boy promo 12" for Interesting Drug. It was issued in a plain black diecut sleeve. The b-side label is blank, and this promo makes no mention of Morrissey.

A 12" acetate for Interesting Drug. An acetate is a metal disc covered in a lacquer (a thin, plasticy layer). Before the advent of CD-R's, acetates were used in place of cassettes. Each one was placed on a machine that carved the grooves into the lacquer layer. These blank acetates cost $50 each and because of the lacquer deteriorating each time it was played, had a finite lifespan.

Not as exciting as it looks, The Bed Took Fire is merely an earlier recording of At Amber which has just subtle differences. The version is available on the download section of the forums.

Oh I do., well at least the etched Interesting Drug - I have two, but I take your and Grim's point regarding the Suedehead promo.

I thought it was rather high, and that the seller must be pleased. The "Hold On To Your Friends" UK promo 7" is rather rare, though.
