Gig Posters

I thought I'd best add something to this new forum seeing has I was the moaning minnie that requested it in the 1st place.

I managed to obtain 2 Posters from the MEN Arena gig from May 22nd 2004 from the venue, 1 is massive, sorry about the idiot laying on it

the other one is just a smaller version of the above, I rang them up next day & asked if they had any posters of the gig left & would it be possible to get any? They told me to come down & collect them, I was there in 1/2 an hour.
I also managed to get the poster from the Frankfurt gig last year, this one is quite small. On my way out I saw it in a massive glass fronted display (also advertising loads of other upcoming events at the venue), so I saw where it opened, it was just a sliding window & it was only wedged shut with a piece of card, so I opened up the display & took the poster, then I closed the display & wedged it back shut with the bit of card.

What do you want an old copy of The Guardian for?...hmm...(and if it was that important what the bloody hell were you doing putting it in the SHED?)

I didn't take just one i took four (and no i didn't sell them on ebay) i passed them out to my friends at the gig plus one stranger at the gig that just happened to talk to us.

The posters were all OUTSIDE so they had to be taken in case mother nature took them and blew them away....it had to be done.

Such a great night.

now i know why i like Moz fans they are so nice to other fans. They share.....a lovely lady shared the piece of Moz shirt with me and i passed a little bit of that onto a good friend. Fabulous....really cool. :)

So the one with the band in front of the Salfords was not used during this tour? I have one with this pic and a mention under "On Tour"...It was taken from a wall during this era in England if i have a good memorie

I have found several posters but to quite extreme prices. It's promo posters for Rank, The Queen Is Dead and on for The Smiths On Tour with the picture from the "There's A Light..." singel. About 30 euros à pice, hardly worth it.

Belive I have lost my poster for the Swedish gigs form last year:(

I can't believe that when i moved house 8 years ago i left posters in the loft. Had a massive Meat is Murder tour poster, Queen is Dead poster and several band posters. Just seen the house is up for sale again, mmmmm i wonder if i should take a look.......

I've got a poster - it's an A4 one - from the Smiths Miners Cannock gig when the band got bottled. Only reason I got one cos my band were on first. I seem to remember getting a handful but I can only find one now...

They are not really tour posters but more promotional posters. I got them all outside the G-Mex gigs in December. First there is a huge and I mean HUGE Ringleader poster and an even bigger The Youngest Was The Most Loved poster. I was lucky enough to get them for free as the people who were selling them really wanted to leave and so kind of forced them upon me so they could get out of the cold fast. Ahh come to think of it I did grab a tour poster for the Chirstmas leg of 2006 which is just Moz outside the Pizza place in Rome and the dates listed dowqn the side. This was once again from the G-Mex but I had to pay this time and once again it is pretty huge. I would really love to get my hands on some Smiths tour posters though. Also, I notice that from time to time in Vinyl Revival they sell a huge framed Moz tour poster from the Bona Drag era but it is about £40 which I cannot afford for just a framed poster.
