After YATQ, I could sort of see what the next album would be like and sort of what the subject matters would be, but after ROTT, I have no idea, i fear sort of, for the next album may be a lyrical/musical flop? Can anyone restore confidence?

The albums are never what I'm expecting so I take comfort in knowing that it will be different than the others.
I remember buying Kill Uncle the day it came out and not being disappointed even though I now rate it as the least enjoyable album he's done. Something has to be last but it's still a good record. Not great.
Fear not for there is nothing you can do but listen to the new songs when they come.
Look at the people in the prediction business. Miss Cleo, Dianna Ross, The creepy lady in the tent at the state fair.
It's better not to think about it.

He's going to go to Scandinavia and it's all going to be poetry about the landscape.
Oh my god, it's Robby!

Spain
but he is going to settle a land dispute
between Sir Connery & Björk
whilst recording
so you can guess the nature of the songs he will record

He mentioned on 'true to you' at the end of the main body of the 2006 'Ringleader' dates that he had been struck by how beautiful Austria is (which it really is), so a move to the Alps may be on the cards.
If this happens, the next album may be heavily influenced by 'Volksmusik'. Hell, he may even collaborate with Hansi Hinterseer (Pride of Kitzbuehel)!
Then again, maybe not.

Yeah, that would be nice. Some Icelandic poetry perhaps ā la Hemingway:D .
No, if I were him I would stay in Rome and write about... power and ancient hybris:rolleyes:
