This reminds me of a few years ago when my friend and I made a bread-shaped mould, poured tea into it, and then put it in the freezer. So we had tea-bread! We never ate it and I can't remember why we did it in the first place, boredom most likely. :o

I love 'em. I get them with tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, cucumbers, green peppers, sometimes jalapenos. Then I get provolone cheese which for me, takes the place of meat because I get extra cheese. Then add some mayo and mustard and it's pretty damn good.
Oh, and put it on Italian herbs and cheese. I usually got just regular plain bread, but then one day the guy gave me Italian herbs and cheese instead and it was even better!

They were tasty but if you had an imperfection in one, like a bit of the membrane from around the core - it was hard as a rock, so I had to watch out for those and take them out before eating the rest of the chip. I'm currently on a bit of a Bowie kick, circa 1974/75/76: 'Cracked Actor' BBC doc, 'Young Americans' on Dick Cavett, 'Isolar' Tour, etcetera. So, since last weekend, in honour of Dame Bowie's alleged dietary habits of the era, I've been mainly consuming milk and cocaine.
Or at least milk and ProPlus pills. Financial and legal issues required some degree of improvisation. But, other than a couple of bananas a day, that's it.
So far? It's going quite well :squiffy:

I decided to bake myself a fruit cake this morning but while I was mixing the ingredients, I saw how nice the gooey mixture with sultanas looked and started eating it out of the bowl and as I had went slightly over the top with the mixed spiced it tasted great and I ate a little too much and now I feel sick.

The mixture sure does taste better than the cake itself, it's the same when you make cookies the mixture tastes better....or maybe it's just me...??

The other day I picked up some okra shoots from a shop that sells occasional unusual vegetables. I found a simple recipe for them which I've just tried that turned out quite tasty.

- Trim off the stalk ends, then cut into 1cm/half-inch slices, or leave whole if small. Fry in 2 tablespoons of olive oil with a chopped onion, chopped tomato, crushed garlic, ground coriander and cumin, pinch of salt n' pepper, for 10-15 minutes. Then voilá! A delicious spicy dish! :yum:

I'm just having the above now!

Before it though, I made something with another unusual vegetable which was damned finger-licking tasty - here's the recipe, originally from BBC website, I think:

Butternut Squash Curry
Ingredients
110g/4oz rice
2 tbsp olive oil
½ butternut squash, peeled, de-seeded and diced
1 large spring onion, sliced
pinch of cumin seeds
pinch of medium curry powder
few cardamom pods
1 bay leaf
¼ tsp ground ginger
150ml/5fl oz vegetable stock, plus extra if necessary
To serve
1 orange, peeled and cut into 8 slices
few chives, to garnish

Method
1. Bring a large pan of water to the boil and cook the rice for 10-12 minutes, or according to packet instructions.
2. Heat the oil in a large pan and sauté the butternut squash for a few minutes, to soften.
3. Add the spring onion, cumin, curry powder, cardamom, bay leaves and ginger to the pan, and fry for a further 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally
4. Drain the rice and add to the pan with the spicy butternut squash. Stir through.
5. Add the vegetable stock to the pan and simmer gently for a few minutes, stirring frequently, until the rice absorbs the stock.
6. Transfer to serving dishes and serve with the orange slices.
7. Garnish with the fresh chives to serve. :yum:

and its good an all (B-) but it would be an A+ if it also had a layer of peanut butter in it :yum:

What is with you and grading everything? Are you a teacher?

I just ate some Weetabix with soya milk and splenda, in the microwave and stirred so it looks like porridge and is nice and hot. Great stuff!

Oh my god, it's Robby!

Why can't you get these in England???

We like peanut butter as well.

Still I should be grateful that we've recently got Reeces peanut butter cups over here.
