Bill Morrissey
There is also an obscure 60's band called Smith, which really gets on my nerves when I'm looking for vinyl at a really good record store.

Once in Madrid I entered a small record store, there was an old guy at the counter, I asked him for Morrissey records (something I always tend to do at at record store), he replied with a strong spanish accent " Ahh Morriiiison!... "Oh no not Jim Morrison from the Doors :p" I thought...
Some moments after, the ancient man came up with a box of Moz/Smiths bootlegs ....
I spent a little fortune, but I came home with a treasure :p

it does, but you can counteract this by spreading all the Moz cds you can find across as much of the rack as they will cover.
this is my record store hobby, in fact the onyl reason i ever go in a record store. LOL

:) You bloody Terrorist :p
I usually tend to do the opposite...
Call me what you want... but I've always prefered to see Moz as an independent artist... I reaally hate the idea of seeing him being worshiped by a regular mortal, who, one week loves Britney Spears (cos it's cool), and the next one ( cos it's cool) lovez Moz...
Therefore I tend to hide Moz Cds behind others :p
Hope it ain't just me :)

In my local Asda a couple of months ago, my daughter and I changed round most of the copies of the NME (I think)to reveal Morrisseys picture which was on the back cover. We did it mostly to annoy people but to be honest they seemed to be more interested in eating the contents of their shopping trollies before getting to the checkout... but we enjoyed it.

Please don't hide the Morrissey cd's. Some tiny percentage of the money from the sales of these goes to our friend Morrissey and I'm sure he'd smash his head against the wall to think his fans are hiding his cd's in the record stores.
That whole exclusive thing is really not applicable here anyway. If you want to listen to people nobody else likes you're going to have to dig a little deeper than Morrissey
I personally think it would be great if someone went to the store not knowing what they wanted, maybe considering Britney or Justin, and seeing Morrissey's CD, picked it up, read a few song titles, bought it, went home, played it, and started in buying real music.
Please don't hide the cd's. Thanks.
Here's some more names. From ticketmaster...
Bill Morrissey
Dick Morrissey
Ruthie Morrissey
and all you ebay shoppers should be aware of a "Dean Morrissey".
Apparently Morrissey comes from a musical family and all his cousins got record deals. ;)
