Od question I know, but I was reading an article in an Irish newspaper which claimed he went to school in Malahide, Dublin. This is news to me. Article implied he was born in Ireland which again is not something I ever thought - all evidence (er, Wikipedia) points to him being born in Manchester.

Is it all just sloppy journalism then?

Born May 22nd 1959 Manchester .... home of the braves :p , Is Irish roots come from his parents....

Ja. Born in Manchester to Irish parents. Hence 'Irish Blood, English Heart' :o

Indeed. It was just so odd, considering everything about him goes on about Manchester, I'd have been suprised if every Smiths/Morrissey fan would have missed something as basic as where Morrissey was born
