Hello all,
Check out the site http://www.columbia.co.uk and look for artist Mark Ronson. He is one of the label's latest signings, and has done a version of "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before".
What do you reckon to it?

I really like the strings in this arrangement. Overall not really my thing. Nice find though :)

I actually really liked this. It's got a good funky mix of the tune and the lyrics are always going to be ace anyway... but it's a right smack in the face for anyone who says Smiths songs are all misery because if you played them this they'd never know! I'd download it... but I wouldn't buy it. As covers go, it's not a bad cover. He's tried to be different enough for it to work without ruining the feel of the original tune. It comes through and it works for me.

Not bad...it's at least different which covers aren't. I like the backing, but not mad on the vocals. Thanks for the link!

It's a very very good cover which doesnt axe the original version. Great arrangement..and I quite like the voice, too. Clever segue into "You Keep Me Hanging On" as well.
Always a joy to hear new artists being inspired and influenced by "old" Smiths tunes.
Thanks for bringing this over. Interesting.

urgh
i hate this.
mark ronson is awful... terrible, lowest common denominator student hip hop. anodine and bland. the vocal is whack and the backing is some shite midi file with a crappy drum loop.
dire.
