Lordy! It's pee-ing down! Where's the summer gone? Was that it?

Its quite bright here today, I got the washing out so I am hoping it will be dry soon, my clothes horse broke but my parents have an old one they are giving me, it really is a god send when the weather is crappy. I do miss my dryer but I do not think I will replace it. It has been broken for about a year.

Umm, right now I feel kinda sick from eating the rest of my doritos and it's really hot and that doesn't help a whole lot either. :p
And then in a little bit I have to go to school to pick up my debt slip and find out if I'm sophmore or not. D:

I'm not really doing anything until tomorrow, and I've been told we'll do whatever I want.
Damn straight. seeing as today I won't be doing much.

Yeah, I've pretty much spent all day yesterday & today watching videos, looking at pics, and talking to my friends & family there (they're all fine, but most are unable to get to work or school). I thought we'd seen it all in the "500 year flood" of 1993, but this is far, far worse. I'm trying to find a decent before & after pic.

The city has 120k people, and 1/5th of them have been evacuated so far, but almost every single bridge is out in a 3-county radius.

Surprisingly, there haven't been any deaths or reports of looting.

I'm glad their homes are okay, at least. Who wants to go to work anyway ;) And thank goodness for no deaths. Seriously, the midwest/plains need to 'stop the bleeding' with all these storms. It's devastating. Has Bush declared the City a disaster area?

You can put some food trail which leads them out of your garden?

Or ring up RSPCA and ask their advice. ;)

You can buy and set up little sound-wave emitters which (oddly enough) emit sound waves that rodents can't tolerate. On no account, however, must you set one up in the vicinity of pet hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils, rabbits, guinea-pigs, etc.

Can one become dyslexic in their twenties?
It wasn't suggested I was dyslexic until I was about 19. I had some of the tests, and it came out as a strong 'YES!' but I didn't finish all the testing. I have few problems with reading (sometimes read half of one line and half of another) but my spelling is dreadful, there's nothing I can do about it (other than spell check, which I don't here :D ) I often put letters or words in the wrong order when spelling and when I talk I often get words the wrong way round (without the aid of drink!)the things I didn't know about til I was tested were things like confusing left and right, disorganisation, being very messy (honest) and a lack of co-ordination, all of which I have.

I got the most gorgeous mushroom (no, not magic ones  )from a market today. They were mssive, flat, breakfast mushrooms (which I had to base an entire meal around) I really miss having my own garden, and I think I might get an allotment in a few years to grow veggies.

That sounds yummy. What did you cook them with?

Over here in the U.S. we've had a salmonella outbreak. It's been contaminating tomatoes, so I'm really glad we grow our own here.

shit! thanks for letting me know, tomatoes are exported here from the US. I had one for breakfast as part of a (lowish cal) cooked breakfast, and the other chopped in a (low fat) sauce with steak. Sorry veggies, but it was yummy!

Salt suddenly vanished from the family diet when my mum was diagnosed with high blood pressure in to 1980's. Everything seemed tasteless at first, but then we started realising what food was supposed to taste like - i.e., of itself, not like a heap of salt. When first I met Stig, he (well he didn't say at the time as he was trying to get into my undies) found my cooking really bland for the same reason, then when he next went home to visit his parents, found their cooking unbearably salty, as did I.

Our church has just concluded a 18-month long new Pastor search. Our old Pastor left that long ago for a big Boston church and we've had an interim Pastor. There was a dinner for him tonight and he preaches a sermon tomorrow. Then, as a congregation, we vote to 'hire him'. I'm sure it will be a Yes. He goes back to his little church in Minnesota and then is back for good in 3 mos. if he's 'hired'.

Anyway, I get a good vibe from Frank. The core group of people hung out at the end all drinking Goose Island beers... :guitar: My church is fun :)

Here's my hangover advice: Pour yourself 1-1/2 cups of hot water, 3 table spoons of hot sauce, and 5 spoonfuls of salt. Drink very fast and your hangover will be cured. Actually, that's not a hangover cure. It's best used to have a laugh when a gullible (and probably young) friend actually tries it.

Yeah, he'd be thrilled to have knitted trousers! :D

How about Russell?
I did think of russell. However, I suspect I'd find him in the bin/given to Lulu to play with/down the toilet, so maybe best not!

Do you want some wavy black doll hair to Russell up (groan) his hair-do, or are you going with wool for that?

I just started the first version of my wedding to-do list. :gun:

Thankfully I have a year to plan it.

I did think that. Hmmmmmmm..........skinny jeans are a bit of a pain in the arse tho.

You just need maybe two stitches less width at the hem. I'd start decreasing maybe 12 rows above the start of the taper on my pattern and work in two extra decreases on the way down.
