This is a cool thread. I like all the covers.

Here are mine I did as a goof in the style of jo slee/morrissey from waayyy back:

CD1: Photo from the film "Open City" by Roberto Rossellini. Cover star: Anna Magnani (the best bits of her, anyway)

CD2: Photo of a fidgety alter boy by Gianni Berengo Gardin from 1956

CD3: Photo from the film "Blow Up" by Michelangelo Antonioni. Cover star may be Vanessa Redgrave (don't remember her ever looking that good) **Seriously, the cover star is Veruschka Von Lehndorff.

The Youngest and MrRoboto: thanks a lot, you're kind! :o I've been lucky anyway:I found that pic and thought:"wow,it's perfect!". I should find my Accattone vhs and check if it's a movie still, or just a pics of that period: I'm curious, 'cause the photo is cute and I wanna know if it's to Pasolini's credit. It could be also the cover of "the father...": that song surely deserves a cover too, I'll think about it!

I like it. You made the photo a sepia print? Nice. I'm excited too that another single is coming out soon.

Are you the one taking cd design in school or was it Troublemaker? Reason why I'm asking is because I'm interested in an update on how the class was going. I was also wondering if the final project would be something like a 3-D CD package of some sort. Maybe a possible idea could be Morrissey's singles collected in a biscuit tin or something? :D A shoebox? A hatbox? (A Hatbox of Hollow  )

Errm, maybe not. Anyway, I found a nice website that has cd design programs as well as case studies:

Hey, I am just going to tell you that due to some mess up with the media department at school the CD design course was put of for ages, but at last it starts today :) we have to study all the different conventions etc. of CD covers and then produce three, two for existing bands or bands that did once exist (I chose The Smiths and New Order) and then one for a made up band which should be fun, any ideas on decent band names? I would go for an indie style

Well, I have designed my New Order one and my Smiths one for my GCSE school project, unfortunately they are on a school computer/network. I will get on my USB stick ASAP and upload them here. We noe have to produce one for a made up band, with a name, track list, album name etc. I am going to call my band Esteban (after you know who), no idea about album name and I reckon I will use or edit some Morrissey titles from unreleased songs e.g. Arcana, I'm Not Worth Hitting. There is also this site if I am struggling http://www.list3n.com/list.php?show=all&list=44
