Finally!!! His PIMPship gets some much deserved respect and credit from people who pretty much have no f***ing clue as to what "good music" is? Maybe they're turning over a new leaf with this? I've always felt yahoo and their "music critics" were full of shit and basically had all the labels in their back pockets and thats why they give alot of these f***in shitty bands good reviews?

Nice to see his majesty get his due, and he didn't even have to pay anyone for it? Maybe I'll start using Yahoo again? if they give the next Ashlee Simpson song a "good review", I probably won't.

Tell us what you know about Jesse Tobias

=====
Morrissey credits the "marked difference" in sound here to the presence of guitarist/songwriter and one-time Red Hot Chili Pepper Jesse Tobias
=====

It's a bit of a stretch to call him a one-time Chili Pepper when (as far as I know) all he did with them was jam a few times before they decided he didn't fit in. I guess even rock and rollers like to pad their resumes!

He started out in some band called Mother Tongue, whom I've never heard but apparently had a good following in their region. Then he was hired by Alanis Morrissette. When Frente opened for Alanis, he fell in love with the chick from Frente. They started a band together called Splendid, which I've never heard but who apparently put at least one album out. My understanding is Jesse and the Frente chick broke up their marriage at some point after Jesse started with Morrissey, although I could be wrong, and in any case I'm NOT implying his new opportunity is why he split with his wife!

I have seen a certain member of our community posting messages attacking Jesse. I'm not sure what this is based on. I thought he was a good guitarist on the Morrissey tour and on that one b-side. If anyone has a song by Splendid or Mother Tongue, perhaps posting an MP3 would ne nice.

And what do ya know about Mikey V Farrell?

Besides that brief interview over on MorrisseyTour, here's a little more, from back when he was playing with Canton, Ohio's Macy Gray.

Keyboardist Mike Farrell is having a blast in Europe right now on a promotional tour for Macy Gray in support of her new album, The Trouble With Being Myself. “We’ve been doing mostly television appearances in the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany,” Mike said. “Touring with Macy is a real gas. Her material is real feel-good, party music and the audience response is always pumping.” Farrell even got to play on his favorite keyboardist’s show over in London, Jools Holland Annual Hootenanny. “Jools is one of my favorite keyboard heroes, and his show is one of the best music shows around. It’s a loose kind of jammy atmosphere and it’s a fun thing for us to check out the other bands and meet up with other musicians.”

Farrell got into keyboards in a typical fashion. At the age of 6, his mother started him on classical piano lessons, which he despised. He later applied his skills to some of his favorite radio songs and, “It turned into something very cool.” Mike felt very fortunate to be exposed to many different styles of music from artists such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Miles Davis, King Crimson, and Tower of Power.

On the Macy Gray tour, Farrell chose Korg’s MS2000 Music Synthesizer. “I had been hearing from some of my favorite keyboard friends what a great instrument it was,” he explained. “I love to twiddle knobs while I’m playing and the design of the MS2000 allows for lots of mutating sounds and spinning dials. It’s a kind of analog throwback but with all the conveniences of modern technology. When I got the Macy Gray gig, it seemed like the perfect choice.”

On last year’s tour with Vanessa Carlton, Farrell used a Korg TRITON Pro X. As he recalls, “ I needed a versatile keyboard to recreate some of the thick orchestrations on her record, but something that would also allow me to cover the piano parts when Vanessa got away from her instrument.”

Mike also loves his Korg CX3 Combo Organ. “The Korg CX3 is one of my all-time favorite keyboards,” confides the artist.

Beside working with Mariah Carey earlier this year and writing for television shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grounded for Life, and Third Rock from the Sun, Mike still finds time for other projects. “I play in a band called Melodine with some L.A. friends of mine. We just finished our second record, Pack, which is out in July on Atenzia Records. Check that out on www.melodine.net.”

That "certain member" you speak of, would that be the PIMPith of the nation?

I'll stand by what i said: Jesse is a clod. He's never written for Morrissey UNTIL this album correct? and, to my knowledge, until the album is released, he's still never written anything for his PIMPship?

I don't give 3 jerks of a dogs dick where he played guitar before, or for who? the guy is below Alain Whyte on every level f***o. Alain's written or "co-written" some of Morrissey's best songs/music. Until Jesse's shit gets to be good, you and everyone else who has a problem with the PIMP calling Jesse a "clod", can go f*** yourself.

Until Jesse proves to me he can carry Alain's guitar picks to the stage? he sucks.

Now, go f*** off.

I could give 4 jerks of your moms left tit about Mikey Farrell....I never said shit about him did I? I don't give a f***ity f*** who he played for before.

By the way, Deano sucks because: he plays drums for Good Charlotte, they're about as "punk" as Sum 41 and Avirl Levigne are.

In other words dicksmack, you lower yourself as a musician in working with these f***in shit people. Macy gray has about as much f***in talent as the crack in my dogs ass......so that's not saying much.

By the way, ever wonder....why do these people leave Morrissey to join other bands? Probably because Morrissey figured out what's been painfully obvious for months: they suck almost as much cock as your mom does & they're shitty. if they were any good? they'd still be with his PIMPship?

Re: Tell us what you know about Jesse Tobias

No, I meant the person who does the Alain Whyte fanzine! She hates the guy. lol Although she never says why. I had no idea you had said anything about him. All my message was intended for was for people to post anything they know about him so we can get to know him better. I agree he has yet to prove himself.

I agree. f*** Deano and Good Charlotte.

Well...Macy Gray's not too bad, when I'm in the mood for that sort of thing.

From Morrissette to Morrissey: The Jesse Tobias Story

Oh ok...then for the time being...I rescind my "go f*** yourself" response...

so..un f***ith thy self...for now.

That girl you speak of is just voicing her opinion, is she not? She's got as much right to say what she wants as the next person, I found nothing she said about Jesse to be incorrect, at the present time. Until Jesse writes even a 1/3rd of the amazing f***in music Sir Alain has written for his PIMPship, he ain't shit.

I love you for saying that, PIMP!

you mean me? trust me it has nothing to do with his talent (or lack there of, in my opinion) I have met him 2x both of which he was very rude for no reason. I won't go into any more detail.

Of course she has the right to say stuff about him! But I wish she wasn't so mysterious about it. I'd like to hear to full gossip!

Okay, fair enough. Was he having an off day or was he just a dick?

Re: Tell us what you know about Jesse Tobias

> I love you for saying that, PIMP!

Only speakin the truth my dear.

Listen, Jesse, by all accounts, might be a stand up cat, not sure? but, so far, I've heard nothing he's written and no success he's had as a song writer. Nothing he's either written or co written has done a shit has it? I could be wrong, but I wish these f***in shitstains here would get off Jesse's nuts so much. "jesse is god...blah blah f***in blah"...enough!!!!

f***in guy's not even written for Morrissey yet(and for you slower folks, read what the f*** i said about him in posts prior), folks here act as if the f***in guy's the greatest songwriter ever?

So once again, until Jesse does anything to prove how good he is at:

A) playing guitar

or B) writing lyrics(meaning a song he wrote or co wrote did something commercially)

He should be carrying Alain's bags to the arena's Moz and CO. play in. I think I saw Jesse scooping ice cream at the Haagen daas on Sunset blvd yesterday.

Re: Tell us what you know about Jesse Tobias

They're right next to each other at the record stores! It's annoying - often Alanis' CDs get mixed up in the Morrissey section. >

I've heard train wrecks that sounded better than Macy Gray. Talk about someone who's career is in the shitter? I think Macy gray was washing my car last week at the local Car wash.

f*** Macy Gray!!!

Jesse, this goes out to you: Don't be a dicksmack to your fans, you get no points this way. I've heard he's wuite "douchey" to fans as well. He better be nice to me if I ever meet him, or he will get No Yoshinoya!!!! Gotta be cool to get the Yoshinoya man. BTW, his majesty dig's the wonder soup. Infact, he wrote about it on You Are The Quarry: "I've been dreaming of a time when.......I chilled with the PIMP and ate some YO"......but they cut the last part out.

Don't let his PIMpship fool you, he digs the YO very much so. He drinks the Orange Drink from Mickey D's to wash it down as well. If you meet him,(his PIMPship) ask him about the time he almost got permanently banned from the YO on Sunset for stinkin up their bathroom? Place stunk for almost a half an hour.

Re: Tell us what you know about Jesse Tobias

Dear god no! Say it isn's true? Alanis Morrissette? she sucks big elephant cocks. She hasn't been "relevant" for what 15 years? Good god, no wonder why Tobias is a clod!!! I wouldn't admit to working with Alanis if i had 5 weeks to live.

Dear god no! one has talent(Morrissey) and one has about as much talent as my Dogs left nutt.
