i will see you in far off places- heaviest Moz track yet....verging on metal....fantastic and bombastic.
dear god.....- Lyric "dragging my heart trough Rome on a string..." a ballad...very nice. gorgeous strings
you have killed me- obvious single..very catchy....a bit like FOTG but heavier....."i have forgiven you..." at the end
youngest was the most loved- fast and catchy.."you were the cherub.."
in the future when alls well- another fast rock track..catchy...intense and funny lyrics..
the father who must be killed- doomy atmospheric track "stepchild....."...
life is a pigsty- ABSOLUTE GENIUS...cinematic and slow....sound of rain and heavy drums featured. my fave.
ill never be anybody's hero now- a but of a plodder....good lyrics. nothing special..a bit of a Quarry track
on the streets i ran- amazing upbeat rock song....name checks Pittsburg, PA..and not in a good way!
to me you are a work of art- erm....midpaced rocker....nothing stands out except a bit of an obvious chorus
i just want to see the boy happy- moz proclaims that his life is worthless to him..he only cares about the happiness of "the boy"..amazing upbeat rock song.
at last i am born- very funny....quirky sort of understated tune..a great closer.....

sorry its so vague..just got back from the listening party.

overall a great, interesting, new kind of moz record that will turn heads

i'm salivating.

Brilliant. Thankyou. How many times did you get to hear it?

just once which was a huge tease...

but seriously this record, with a couple of exceptions is a big departure. the lyrics are very dark..it is very dense and is easily his most ambitious solo record to date

i'm so jealous i want to cry!

and we have to wait so long!

the word ambitious is scaring me a bit....
please god let it be a good album.

They must have a lot of faith in it's impact if they are only letting people hear it once.

Hi Bernard - what exactly happened? Were you all sat around just listening, and allowed to take notes, or was it just "sit here, listen, then leave"? I think it's a great idea, as it just builds the tension and expectation for the fans. It sounds like a beaut already - a mixture of Southpaw and Vauxhall perhaps? Which would be no bad thing.
Best Wishes,

Sk./Peter

we sat in a posh screening room..given some promo materials (the nme article and the tracklisting)....and they played it once....the first song kicked in and no one in that room thought it was the moz lp...total departure...

i was thinking a darker, noisier vauxhall........in terms of their being a really dense texture to the lp...alot of weird noises and samples.....the strings work really well....childrend choir as well..there is one track that reminds me of the who or the stones in a way...lots of guitars all over the place...alot less quiet overall....really only two ballads.

MUST... HAVE... MORE... LYRICS...

*cries* Please, please, please let me get what I want.

...."take Pittsburgh Pennsylvania but spare me..."

probably a massiv paraphrase but it's close

Ooo thanks! More more more o:)

> Ooo thanks! More more more o:)

"there is no such thing in life as normal...."

"i used to be concerned with matters of the flesh.....but now i am born..."

> "there is no such thing in life as normal...."

Oh God, I hope this isn't correct -- whenever Mozzer's lyrics veer toward the propositional they come off as banal or just plain silly.

> "there is no such thing in life as normal...."

Someone dial a cliché?
