Raymonde Collection & Rarities

Recently I saw Dallow's kind post where he was going to the effort to rip and share his copy of "Jennifer Wants". To assist in keeping the memory of Raymonde alive, below is a link to my entire Raymonde collection. The bundle includes all of the tracks from Babelogue as well as b-sides, rarities and James Maker solo recordings from the mid 1990's.

Raymonde was a fantastic band. If you have any other rarities, videos, or articles on the band, please keep the big ball of goodwill rolling and share.

Interesting tidbits:

* "Oh Hellish Choir" on Raymonde's one and only album is James Makers ode to Klaus Nomi. Maker introduced Moz to Nomi's music in the early 80s. Moz of course went on to use Nomi's "Wayward Sisters" as his intro music for the "Kill Uncle" tour. Morrissey also utilized Nomi's "Der Nissbuam" in "Hulmerist" and named Nomi's "Death" as one of his Top Ten songs during a radio show in the mid 1980s.

* In the mid 1980's Raymonde paid tribute to Nancy Sinatra by covering her biggest hit "These Boots Were Made For Walking" as a b-side to one of their first singles. Moz of course later paid tribute to Nancy by allowing her to record a version of "Let Me Kiss You". Morrissey then went on to close the circuit by paying tribute to Raymonde by recording his version of "Noone Can Hold A Candle To You" which Morrissey had been playing around with and planning to cover since the late 1990s.

*During the mid 1990s a website was constructed called "Raymonde Resurrected" which housed MP3s of all of the Raymonde album tracks as well as articles, a message board and photos of the band. The site was located at:
http://raymonde.maker.free.fr but became defunct in the late 1990s. However remnants of the site exist to this day including a page with links to the lyrics of all of the songs on the Raymonde album: http://raymonde.maker.free.fr/lyrics.html

As well as this page with photos of James Maker and the band:

http://raymonde.maker.free.fr/pics.html

Also here is a vintage interview with Raymonde from way back in the day:

Enjoy!

L'Estrange

Thanks you, that is fantastic, been looking for this stuff for years, you star!

I think I missed the boat... could someone re-post or post some individual key tracks? Thanks!

Ouch! How did I miss this?

Could it possibly be reposted? Benji, or L'Estrange?

Thanks so much, I'm glad my post inspired such an act.

Wish I could hear it!

I have no idea how quickly that went. but if someone could re-post it I would be very grateful.

Re: Thank you so much! Downloading now.

Can you re-post what you downloaded? or e-mail me the file?

Please Please Please!

Re: New yousendit link

Now that one is gone too. Is there any way you can send this via e-mail or put it on megga upload or somewhere with a time limit and not a download no's limit.

I have been checking back all week in the hope someone would re-post it.

HELP!

ive downloaded this collection but when i try to open the file to listen to it my computer says 'windows cant open this file' then it tells me its "RAR compressed archive file" then it gives me web sites to get software to open compressed files but the download costs $29 or more.....does anyone know where i can get free software to open RAR? thanks

Re: help

Here you go, a link for free winrar, It'll keep working after the trail period too, it'll just ask you to buy everytime you use it.

New links

MegaUpload was taking forever (it's 110 Mb in total), so i made three ZIP-files and put them on QuickDump (who seem to have no download-limit).

Re: New links

JR

This is not letting me download either, just says too many people are downloading.

Can you send the zip files of the James maker and the B-sides to me by e-mail? I have Babelogue already.

Thanks in hope.
