I think we're already seeing a consensus, to which I'll add: Now My Heart Is Full.
One will probably never truly get a thorough consensus from such a disparate, eclectic, large group of people such as Morrissey fans, but in my years of reading through forums the closest we ever seem to get is _Vauxhall and I_ for "best/most representative LP" and "Now My Heart Is Full" for "best/most representative track."
And not without reason, either. It really is perhaps the greatest thing he's ever written. For a few alternatives, I'd opt for Jack The Ripper, Boxers, or Hold On To Your Friends. I personally love We'll Let You Know immensely, but not sure I could recommend it as a potential "greatest." Ditto "Whatever Happens, I Love You" -- just an awesome, awesome track that is easily a Top 10 for me, but something prevents me from recommending it as a potential "greatest Moz song." I guess there's some tracks you just personally love so much but recognise are of only decent, but not great, quality.
Haven't been on this board for awhile, nice to stop by again!
Cheers all,
J.T.
