indeed, i love it. Beautiful piano complimented by shanes rough voice

RIP kirsty, amazing singer

Yes, of course no disrespect to Kirsty...just love the piano, voice, and words of the first third. It was used in the film "Basquiat" to great effect.

Shane and The Pogues have just performed it for the first time on TV since 1988 on a Jonathan Ross TV special on BBC1. Katie Melua sang the Kirsty part. No substitute, of course, but a comely maiden, nonetheless. Shane seems remarkably together, all things considered.

I agree. I love the line:- "I could have been someone. Well so could anyone.
You took my dreams from me when I first found you. I kept them with me,
babe. I put them with my own. Can't make it all alone. I build
my dreams around you."

Awww. It's great.

Yeah, posh English people pretending to be Irish, nothing better (sighs)

Here's Shane performing it with the Popes on Paddy's Day, 2001

Due to foot and mouth disease, Paddy's Day in Dublin, 2001, was moved from March to May, and Shane was able to celebrate Paddy's Day on stage in both New York and Dublin in the same year. This was one of the songs performed.
