The reason the turn out is so huge is for the simple fact; they want to rule their own country.

They are sickened by the U.S and Britain making a worse mess than Saddam ever attempted. The fact that the "Sunnis" turned out in huge numbers is not a victory for the West, quite the opposite.

For some reason, many preferred the nutjob named Saddam than the two others.

Keep eating the beef.

A lot of Americans and Iraqis have spilled blood to make these elections happen. You should shut your trap and hold your head in shame.

A racist statement. And, as it turns out, wrong.

they like to fancy themselves on the side of the Third World oppressed. Sometimes it seems they only like dictators like Castro.
I'm not sure exactly what goes through their minds when they see millions of Iraqis standing up once again for democracy and in greater numbers than before. Only thing that's for sure is that the American and European Left had NOTHING TO DO WITH HELPING IT HAPPEN and ATTEMPTED TO DERAIL IT EVERY DAY FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS...as they no doubt will continue to do. Sadly enough, this also amounts to a blow off of the Left in IRAQ, who are left wondering why hating Bush is more important than having solidarity with their plight.

America and Uk had nothing to do with making it happen?

Where have you been for the past Bush mark I and II years?

They had to make it happen because the peace loving west opened their eyes in the small hours of the morning to allied bombs hitting well intended targets.

Anyway, I still maintain the Iranian President may have made fair comment.

Israel, should be in Europe, if they want to defend it being elsewhere, look what happens.

71% of the Iraqi people said they are happier now than when Saddam was in power.

They have obviously eaten too much ground beef.

"Mad Cow Disease" is another covert weapon of mass destruction.
