Don't be hurt, my spectral friend - uncomfortable silence is a token of affection over here...

Now, what do you wanna (not) talk about?

I didn't actually watch the documentary. I am in America (GASP).
My mother was obessed with Hitler in a Christian Science curious kind of way and she would read every thing she could find on all things pertaining to Hitler.

oh thierry, you know old kestrel can hold her own...

i DO feel crazy today tho and it has nothing to do with anyone on these boards.
In fact, I am using these boards as some kind of panacea...
very very down on humanity today, more so than usual...
is is the beginning of the end?
I'd like to hear what you have to say.

Don't worry you didn't miss anything.
It wasn't a documentary only a drama.
I really don't think the programme told you anything that wasn't common knowledge anyway. It just followed the theme of him having some sort of obsession with his niece, who did (factually) commit suicide. It inferred that her suicide was as a result of Hitler having her boyfriend murdered, when he learned that he was Jewish. It also suggested that she was pregnant (the boyfriend being the father) Whether or not this part of the programme is factual or not, I couldn't say. Basically that was it really.
Oh and of course he married Eva Braun just before he shot himself.
He also gave his dog some type of cyanide pill or something.

Thierry's been barred. Again.

i remember reading one of my mothers Hitler bio's at age 8 and it talked about how he gave his dog a cyanide pill which of course was traumatizing to a little kestrel. it was evident the next day at school that i was fucked by this piece of information. I remember the teacher asking me to stand up and read something aloud and when I said no she forced me to announce to the class what was wrong with me and SO I DID and then they sent me off to the school shrink for a couple of days...

Aah, that sounds like something I'd do.
He didn't do it maliciously though, as you know, he thought the world of animals (Moreso than people)
He just wanted to make sure his dog wasn't left alone, as he had the intention of killing himself.
It was done within the same hour, it appears.
If the programme is anyway, as reality would have it.
It appears cyanide poisoning is far more humane than that overdose of barbiturate or whatever, vets use.
The dog immediately fell...
I'm sure this was only visual effect, but it struck me as I had a beautiful German Shepherd who had to be put to sleep.
I stayed with her of course and I can still relive it to this day...
I just thought, well that was a hell of a lot quicker than the vets way
No joke intended by the way, but for the weight of dog, Hitler's fell extremely quickly.

Tomorrow will be worse than today, believe me.

No he done it out of kindness....
He didn't want his dog subjected to any cruelty after his demise.

I mean that after using one name for a certain period of time, I'm always asked to provide a password - which, of course, I don't have. So I start using another...

Why does this happen?

Because some clever soul on here has registered your name with a password.
They done the same to me.
I was seriously flawed and then someone nicked it...so I now have to be
sseriously flawed..they nick all the derivatives as well,,i.e in capital letters etc...
You'll have to choose a name and then put a password on it, so they can't pinch it again.

Tomorrow will be worse than today, believe me.

Just such heartbreak when they depart.

What's the point of doing that? I dunno - some people...

Cheers for the advice, anyhow - I quite liked the name Thierry's Ennui, but there you go...

Right - I'm off to bed. G'night.
