I know that there are many opponents to censorship on this message board--and rightfully so--but I'm of the opinion that censorship should only be an issue so long as the messages are within the universe of pertinent subject matter. When people post messages about, wrestling if you will, I wish David would exercise his power to erase them. This is supposed to a Morrissey message board. I just don't understand why people do such stupid things. Once or twice is forgivable, but to do it so many times is aggravating.

This is a really touchy subject, I know. I actually don't like the idea of someone controlling the content of a message board, but I think when someone deliberately posts a series of messages solely for the purpose of making people irritated, I think erasure is something which should be considered. I know that classconscious will probably just call me an "ass-kiss" again, but seeing a series of inane, impertinent posts like that makes me wonder how David feels seeing some sense-deficient individual making a mockery of his creation. I suppose it's too much of a headache for David to worry about, and better to simply ignore, but it makes me feel a little badly for David.

They aren't posting to contribute anything, or even to socialize or be amusing. They are posting to be a nuisance. It's an act of AGGRESSION. So aggressive posts should be deleted, no debate, because we deserve better!!!!

I hope my little discussion of the x-files and Star Trek Voyager is not what you are talking about> I think it is important to create a community>

of course, no one is forcing you to read everything on the message board. i look at the subject lines and read what seems interesting, skipping over certain notorious posters' messages.
i doubt david reads much of the content on the message board because he's a very busy man.

You're right. I should get over it. [Shrugs] I get emotional over nothing sometimes.

I think he might read the board more often than some of us would think. When I e-mailed him, he seemed to be familiar with some of the content of the board, but it might have been just that one time. Anyhow, if you're reading this now David--hi! ;-)

well, being off-topic seems such a non-issue to me, after years of being on the morrissey (email) discussion list (was called "bigmouth", then "ask", then "panic", now maladjusted) and a number of others where people discuss things that interest them *other* than the main topic. it's interesting to find out what other interests morrissey fans have. it gives a discussion forum more personality, in my opinion. unfortunately i don't have too much time for this lark anymore.

Well that's certainly a better and more mature stance than the one I took. Yeah, I can see the fun and value in that. I like learning about other people too. It's just that I guess i was annoyed with the fact that that Amber was intentionally (and successfully) trying to be a nuisance. It seems silly to me now. Especially since I'm sure David isn't bothered.
