To the best of my knowledge, I dont remember hearing of Mozzy winning any special awards. Like a Grammy, peoples choice awards ect.
Does anybody know of any?

He won a 'lifetime achievement' type award at the Ivor Novellos for his contribution to British pop music. This must have been in 97 or 98. His acceptance speech was something like 'I'd like to dedicate this award to John Maher of Withenshawe, who got me where I am today ... which begs the question, where am I?' tee hee Morrissee. Radiohead were also there and they were delighted to meet Morrissey. Some BBC interviewer said 'how does it feel to have such an influence on other artists? I mean, Radiohead, you were a huge influence on them'. And Morrissey said 'well this is for Radiohead then'. I like the way he says 'Radiohead'. it's the only time I've ever heard him mention the most important band of our era, who are quite possibly better than the Smiths.

Now, don't let's be daft. They are very important, and terrifically interesting in an age of same old-same old, but Radiohead do NOT touch people on the dramatic and personal level that the Smiths have. This is simply a fact. The lyrics are interesting, but no one would die for them. This makes the difference in everything.
