Firstly, someone asked if they were known in the UK. Yes, I'm from the UK and they definitely WERE known, although none of my friends have heard of them.
Despite the doubters, it's very good to see people who agree that NWA (and possibly Public Enemy) were and will continue to be the epitome of rap music.
To the doubters: Don't base your opinions of NWA on recent rap music. I would heartily that recent rap music is pathetic. It revolves around idiots like Will Smith (who I sicken to think can be considered as rap). Will Smith was the laughing stock of rap, and now he's supposedly attained some kind of coolness...don't buy it. As for Puffy and Jay-Z etc, etc, they're all bland and just rap about how much money they just made. Ignore them.
NWA should be judge by their music alone. Sexist? Well, yes. I don't deny that. However, they were "telling it like it is" (at the time). Just as Moz may comment on his Manchester life, they speak of their Compton life; it may be ugly but it's the truth.
"We are the few that's been abused / and accused of the crime of poisoning young minds / but you don't know @#!!! till you've been in my shoes" (N.W.A. "100 miles and runnin")
Case closed. (for now).

very constructive comments. i fail to see one sentence that could be classed as "pure rubbish". also, the extra exclamation marks are very very very very very very gratuitous.
perhaps if morrissey was born and raised in Compton you would have a different opinion of him.
now go away and listen to 'straight outta compton' thirty-three times.

You forgot to mention the Road Warriors, the Rock N' Roll Express, Tully Blanchard, The Freebirds, Wahoo McDaniel, Ronnie Garvin, Ole Anderson, Ivan Koloff, and Nikita Koloff. Yes...NWA was much better than WCW.

It's a bit geeky to be into wrestling anyway. And incase you weren't aware it's as fake as father christmas. Watch boxing or bushido.

Are you insinuating that hang the dj was a racist song? i would argue that n.w.a. certainly do not say "nothing to me about my life" (ie in the double negative sense). their music was about reality which so very little music is these days. if you are racist and dislike nwa because they are black, or you dislike profanity than i think that's very narrowminded.

what is it with all of this racism? i do not care if they are multi-colored or polka-dotted, bad music is just that, bad music. if i may borrow from wilde an aphorism, "there is no such thing as a moral or immoral book, they are either well written or badly written, that is all". The same is true for music, songs, etc......
Eazy E - The rap equivalent of morrissey!?!?
