LoafingOaf - I am the quarry.

Guest
I bought the new cure boxed set tonight and am listening to it right now.

Very, very good! One of the few boxed sets that's actually worth the price.
I absolutely love the nevr before released version of "Forest."

They also released a good concert DVD, "Trilogy," last year.

And now are set to reissue every f***ing Cure album with bonus discs chock full of live tracks, rarities, and whatnot.

And a new album this summer.

So...the Cure are putting out the motherlode this year. I've always been a kind of on and off Cure fan. I have most of their albums. Right now I am defnitely in a Cure mood and this boxed set is reminding me of how I felt back when they were one of my favorite bands.

Why don't The Smiths and Morrissey do something like this for old and new fans?

Great post. Glad you are happy. Why don't The Smiths do something like this?

Please sit down. Are you seated? Good. The Smiths broke up in 1987.

p.s. I have a secret. Come closer. *whispers* A Smiths' Box Set is being released soon, a few months after the release of "Quarry." The little birdie in England who is always right, never wrong, told me so. Promise me that you will keep this info. to yourself. Be very quiet. Tip toe around the bend, look both ways, make sure that nobody is watching, and fly fly fly!

I found a 3 page review of the Cure's boxed set at the Nation magazine: http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040216&c=1&s=wolk

Yeah, we'll see. I won't believe anything's gonna happen until it happens.

As far as the solo years, although I was happy when I bought the two singles boxed sets, they are not very convenient to play, so they mostly just sit undisturbed on my rack.

Re: The Cure *giveaway* *free* *take it please*

I've just done 2 copies of The String Quartet Tribute to the Cure for some unknown reason.

Anybody want the F**kers?

I'm posting out a wodge of stuff tomorrow, so if you want it, be quick.

[email protected]

thanks

That's pretty generous of you!

I'm kinda anti those string quartet thingies. It seems like they do every f***ing band, so it's just a money-making scheme by assholes.

Morrissey's four words?

Wow, Interesting review of the new Cure box-set, in depth and thoughtful. I wonder what Morrissey's corresponding "four words" would be to Robert Smith's "dream", "girl", "mouth" and "never"?
