Morrissey's first album for seven years will be called You Are The Quarry. It'll come out on Attack records in April - the first fruit of thedeal he signed last year with Sanctuary.
Moz and his band recorded almost thirty songs at Hook End Manor in Oxfordshire with producer Jerry Finn, and they've now been whittled down to the final set.
Guitarist Alan Whyte told 6 Music a few of the unmistakeably Morrissey-esque titles, which include My Life Is A Series Of People Saying Goodbye, Teenage Dad On His Estate, Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice, I Have Forgiven Jesus and How Can Anybody Know How I Feel.
Alan told 6 Music: "It's gonna be a great album. I think the fans will be really really excited. I personally think it's the best Morrissey
album to date.
It's kind of like a cross between Your Arsenal and Vauxhall and I musically - there's real variety there. There are some slow songs, some uptempo ones and a few real tough-sounding tracks."

Some nice titles there, don't you agree?

So we know the following new song titles - some of which will turn up on the Album, some as singles, and some as B-sides....
Irish Blood English Heart
Mexico
I Like You
The First Of The Gang To Die
The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores
I Have Forgiven Jesus
Come Back To Camden
How Can Anybody Possibly Kow How I Feel?
I'm Not Sorry
My Life Is A Series Of People Saying Goodbye
Teenage Dad On His Estate
Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice
So We now know the titles of 12 of the new songs - I seem to recall that Boz mentioned about 28 had, or were going to be recorded, so we'll just have to wait for the other 16, won't we?

Errrm, perhaps a teenaged boy who fathers a child and ends up trapped with the child's mother, living on a council estate ? Like the Suede song "enslaved in a pebble-dashed grave/with a kid on the way" ?

an educated guess I must say.
I was going for something along the lines of Papa Jack.
Weird title.

Yeah, I too find this title the most appealing of the lot.

What do you suppose that one is about? The first thing that came to my mind was a flamboyant gay dad. I'm probably way off, that's just what popped into my head first.

Re: Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice
I don't know. It's probably a hilarious song.
I think it might refer to Morrissey's own voice in a way.
It reminds me of the line off "Have a Go Merchant" about
the little girl and her daddy berating her.
Something about grownups hopelessness when it comes to
children if you know what I mean.
How we believe they should respect us, but we can resist
their infantile charm.

"A cross between 'Your Arsenal' and 'Vauxhall And I' - musically"
Could this be too good to be true?
Hang on...my pulse is starting to race.
Yes, I am officially excited about this album now. With the speculated release dates being put back, I was beginning to think it was a fantasy that he was recording an album at all!

he then went on to say that the album sounds more like Your Arsenal because of the variety.
He also said, it has a 'live' sound to it.
Do you happen to know how Alain described Maladjusted or Southpaw?

Vauxhall & I was released on March 22, 1994, here's for hoping it
cuts down another week
I can't wait for the single ... One of these titles as a single,
you don't see things like that anymore.

technology has changed a whole bunch since his last album. i remember someone had posted the lyrics, but all i heard of it was a scratchy :30 recording of the single Alma Matters on a website. now, it could be that before april gets here that someone leaks the entire thing on the net.
i don't want that to happen!
instead, i want my advance copy! :^P

I don't think it would happen, it usually happens with albums
with great popular demand and let's face it Morrissey's albums ...
It took more than 10 years for 'Striptease With A Difference' to pop up.
> instead, i want my advance copy! :^P
I think with Maladjusted, some people got an advance copy,
because the lyrics posted here were quite accurate.

Copies of the last two albums were floating around well in advance. Southpaw Grammar was around at least 6 weeks before its release, Maladjusted around a month.

Steady, Bluenose! A cross between Your Arsenal and Vauxhall... sounds nigh impossible: a glam rock acoustic album, anyone? Lt's hope they can pull it off...as it were.

Well, maybe you're right. I was getting a little carried away with the excitment. Thoughts of 'Tomorrow' crossed over with 'Now My Heart If Full' made my cheeks flush.
Normal service has now been resumed, you may be relieved to hear.
