It was a cold and bitter winter in 1964!!! Harold Wilson a good Yorkshire lad just became Labour Prim-minster!!! taking over from Conservative Sir Alex Douglas Humes (maybe he was part Scottish and really aristorcratic?)
Just trying to set the seen!

You set the scene very well Andy E. I., but I feel I must correct you on one small point. The 1964 General Election was not until October, so Andy was, like the other Smiths (apart from Craig Gannon), born when the Conservatives were in Government. I hope you enjoy the party.

October 1964 was still cold! I didn't mean the General Election was at the exact time of Andy Rourke's birth! I ment within the year of 1964.
Sadly I am not invited to Andy's party. So I ain't going to no party. I don't gate crash it is wrong.

Sorry to be so pedantic, but these things matter.

I apologise, I misinterpreted your post. I should have known that you had all the facts re Andy Rourke.

That's a shame. I agree that gatecrashing a private birthday party would be wrong. Do you think the other Smiths will be there? Only Mike Joyce I expect.

So does Oxford Road run into Wilmslow Road then? that would make sense if it does?
I saw Oxford Road on a map and a bit futher down the road is a whole bunch of hospitals!!
One of which is called something like St.Marys Mother and Child Hospital??
I think St.Marys? is like a maternaty hospital??
St.Marys hospital is just by the casulty bit I was rushed to in an ambulance in another hospital near by St. Marys! Sometimes I get stomack pains and I was in Manchester in 2001 and I colapsted in Portland Street and someone called an ambulance and I was rushed to hospital. I later just discharged myself from hospital coz there was nothing wrong with me.
