Contrary to widespread belief the new album will NOT be called "Irish Blood,English Heart"

I am told the album title is "You Are The Quarry" and will be released in April 2004.

Songs include:

“I Have Forgiven Jesus”
“Come Back To Camden”
“How Can Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel?”
“I’m Not Sorry”

It's not the first time I have seen at least two of those tracks confirmed but the album title is a new one on me.

Fingers crossed that this finally does look like the real thing.

Have you been on the Irn Bru again, Johnny? How do you know all this, oh enlightened one?

I think Moz could do better than that, and I prefer when the album title is not the same as any song on the album, like Viva Hate, Bona Drag, Kill Uncle, Your Arsenal, Vauxhall & I, and even Southpaw GRAMMAR. The one time Moz went off this path was "Maladjusted." To name an entire album after a song is circumstantial evidence of intellectual ennui & the fatigue of the aged.

And "Meat is Murder" & "The Queen is Dead" don't count as being mistakes, because with Meat he was making a social commentary, and with The Queen he was giving a grand title to what (he knew) may have been the most important album to come out of the UK in the 80's.

Now bring it on!

i was told the title could be "Trouble lives nextdoor in the shape of a cat".

Some of the songs may be titled with the following words (in no particular order):

-Were you really there when he died?
-We are the world, we ate the children!
-Philip Larkin wasn't really a painter
-Time to wave your vouchers
-Cadavres exquis
-Marcel Marceau saw Jean Cocteau
-Last night I saved a turkey from being stabbed by british fooligans

Does anyone know how much this new album will cost? I plan to buy it.

I'm off Irn Bru now Bluenose.I'm into Barr's Red Kola now.Yummy.

I cannot reveal my sources but they are top notch. The album title has been confirmed by 2 different people and has definitely come from Camp Morrissey.

Of course it would not be beyond the realms of possibility that it is another Morrissey wind up.

He was quoting IBEH as an album title abou 4 years ago !!!

Suzanne, if my posts annoy you so much just ignore them .I do with yours.
You are right though that Boz and Moz have been in the recording studio together on more than one occassion since the release of "Maladjusted".
Hardly a huge secret. The last time I believe was at Boz's home studio before the RAH gigs.

but my point is it hardly makes sense for them to record them, sit on them for a few years, and then scrap them.

it would make sense if they were making demos at the time....

Your right Suzanne it doesn't make sense but this is Morrissey we are talking about. When has he ever followed a conventional path with regards to recording music ?

This is a discussion board and as such I will, from time to time, post information I get that may prove interesting to fans of Morrissey.

If some of it later proves inaccurate or doesn't come to fruition then that is fine. I am happy to take any stick that comes my way. That's not what it is about for me.My posts are for stimulating discussion and opinions on an artist I admire more than any other.

If you look at the board over the last few months(and I know you do) then I would think a woman of your obvious intelligence would welcome what could turn out to be a significant step regarding news of a new Morrissey release rather than the normal infighting of a few individuals with nothing to say regarding Morrissey or his music.
We have had our squabbles over the years but as a fan,if not always a person,I admire you.

As I have said before if you REALLY have a problem with me you have my e mail address and you are always welcome to direct whatever issues you have with me directly.

I hope you have a good 2004.

If the new album is even a quarter of the standard that Cathal Coughlan has put out in recent years, Moz will have done very well indeed.

Happy new year Johnny.

Not exactly knocked out by that title but it might grow on me! A lot of the titles around at the moment will probably only be working titles... and Moz has a penchant for changing his album titles at the last minute: "Smiths In Heat" to "Rank", "Education In Reverse" to "Viva Hate", etc. And of course "The Queen Is Dead" was "Margaret On A Guillotine" in its early days. I'm just glad to know he's in the studio actually recording some songs... I wonder if anyone can remember any more song titles that have been bandied about. I recall "Can't Carry On" and "It's The Place I Love" were once mentioned.
