Fantastic! Couldn't have picked a better Ramones song myself.
It's only a tiny quibble but a less obvious Dolls song would have been great......and don't forget ...if anyone wants the "Best Of" collection by Ludus that was released last year..drop me a mail.

It's interesting that it's significantly different than the previous "leaked" track listing - and also significantly more commercial. Maybe DMC had some input ? The previous leak (and this leak) may be rubbish, of course. This version agrees with the Guardian article, tho' - and the previous leaked" track listing didn't.

Wow - a powerfully obscure list.

What's Klaus Nomi like?

Er VERy gothic - operatic. Nomi is, I think, what they call a 'counter-tenor' so sings with a very high voice. think Morrissey singing 'I need advice, I need advice - nobody ever looks at me twice.It has a sort of synth harpsichord accompaniment. This track is from Purcell's Dido & Aeneas - a very tragic sounding song. Dido sings:

Thy hand, Belinda, darkness shades me,

On thy bosom let me rest,

More I would, but Death invades me;

Death is now a welcome guest.

When I am laid in earth, May my wrongs create

No trouble in thy breast;

Remember me, but ah! forget my fate.

Wonderful. I've heard both Mary Coughlan and Jeff Buckley doing that piece.

Thanks!

this is real!

I've just had it confirmed - this IS the real tracklisting for Under The Influence. Most of it has been on intro tapes so it makes sense, looks a great comp if you ask me.

Does anybody know though if Morrissey has done the sleevenotes?

wouldn't it be cool if...

the collection included a new morrissey song as a bonus track or even an attached single? i won't hold my breath. some people might view that as narcissistic, even by morrissey standards.

Would he put himself on the cover? What are their covers generally like?

Re: wouldn't it be cool if...

i have no idea. let's leave that question up to our british fans (i believe the collection is only released over there).
