i dont know if im the only one, but reading that, it made me sad and tired...just to think of the fact, we will never hear the intensity or sorrow of viva hate or bona drag again. His stint with the smiths will always go on unmatched, his solo days are a bit numbered...its like a sad, slow decline. i think of tunes like "late night, maudlin street" and i know it will never be that good again . even if the old boy has one more album in him...the past is gone and will never be the same.

The past has indeed gone, asob. But despair not. It will always be there for us. At our fingertips. Whenever we decide we'd like to hear that voice again, we can.
I've just left the hoose, and the last song I heard was 'I've changed my plea to guilty'. "Emotional air-raids exhausting my heart."
Is that song exquisite or is it just me?

No, it's not you. They are all great, despite what Mr Street seems to believe.
Still, to this day I also enjoy a tickle of laughter thinking of Marge on that wooden Guillotine... how riske that was of Morrissey back then.
He >will< be back. Please be patient. The record industry is in chaos.
