I like the music and the video, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what the lyrics are about. Is it just me or does Boz's voice sound a bit more...chirpy than on "Miss Pearl"? I'm not quite sure how to describe it..God on Boz though for making something so professional and polished.

Much better than that stuff he did with the rapper.

Much better than that stuff he did with the rapper.
...and better than most of the recent stuff he's done for Mozzer

This is pretty decent--much better than the garbage that has been produced by Morrissey lately.

I take it I'm the only one who thinks it's a tuneless bag of shit, then? He can't sing. He's just getting ready for Moz' retirement

Edit: The lyrics are painful. Dear God. "Her hands are in her pocket, so I guess the cell phone's charging"? Seriously? Yeah, I always put my phone in my pocket when the other side is plugged into the wall...:squiffy:

Is that what it means? I would have assumed it meant that without her phone she doesn't know what to do with her hands so she puts them in her pockets? *shrugs*

Fuck any naysayers Boz is the man. Him and Gaz are the reason I found Morrissey so I'll always have his back.

It means that since she's not talking on the phone--as she is someone who constantly talks on the phone--it must be off somewhere charging. It's a good lyric, actually.

Arrogance and density make for a deadly combination, my friend.

No, it's still a poor lyric. It's pretty cringeworthy to hear someone British discussing "cell phones" in any kind of context, really. Did I mention the music was shit?

Because it'll rival "Party All The Time"? Or because Boz plays all the characters in the video?

agreed. this is mediocre in every sense. the 'tune' was probably a morrissey reject... if so.. wise move

Loved it, doesn't sound like a cockney when singing!
And as mentioned, far better than that (c)rap nonsense he's been peddling recently.
How does he find time to fit it all in??
Hope he does a bit of a tour to promote his album.

Oh look what Morrissey's making him do now - put on a silly moustache and a whole bunch of other lame costumes. Oh look what Morrissey's making him do now - produce crappy music with witless lyrics. Oh, wait - he's doing it of his own accord...?

Enjoyed this!
Lyrics fit together well but don't make a lot of sense -- reminded me of Tim Burgess' stuff for The Charlatans.
I really liked that Edywn Collins song "Losing Sleep" that Boz played on (and appeared in the video for). This seems in that vein.

Mike Joyce? Is that you?

no he had a registered name as ' the drumms'

but that was a few updates from this website ago, but I'm sure
Mike takes a look here, as more Smiths members ,or people who worked
closely with them

but Boz came in around end 1990,early 1991,so why should Joyce bother what a
current bandmember releases?

Not sure about the lyrics. His sounds is like a mixture of Morrissey and Oasis.

Being constructive- I don't like it at all. It sounds like 90's brit pop, perhaps an oasis b-side. He isn't singing he's talking the lyrics, it's painful when he tries to hit a high note. The lyrics are bland which is surprising from someone who co-penned 'the more you ignore me'. On a side note I like Boz but his sniveling of late about all the criticism the band have received on here is very disappointing. A. He should not believe that the band is above criticism. B. He shouldn't bait the trolls. I'd like to see Morrissey's band smile a bit more when they play they all look absolutely miserable up there.

The song was quirky and I enjoyed hearing it.
It was great seeing Boz in the video obviously enjoying himself and having fun.

I love the song and Bozīs performance. Makes me smile. Donīt understand why some people feel the need to leave fucked up comments. Itīs just a piece of music, you like it or you donīt.

It's just very mediocre. Only the bass line has any energy in it and his vocal presentation lacks conviction. He seems to be giving it all he's got in the video but it's a weak vocal recording. And the whole song feels interminable. That phone lyric was nice but, maybe like others here, it was the only one I could distinguish. But then again I've only listened once. Nothing special at all.

Not bad, God knows what it all means, but still better than anything Moz has done of late (other than Scandinavia). I mean dear God "People Are The Same" is about as good as a 7th grade talent show song. Just unlistenable. And believe me, I've SOMEHOW managed to find a way to bullshit my way into liking jus about all of his solo work. Dude needs to stay on the meds, get rid of the hack musicians (except possibly Boz) and work with a QUALITY producer like Street again. ORRRR just fade away. God I hate myself for typing all that, but right now that's what I feel. Keep on keepin' on Boz.
