Eurovision Humperdinck

So Engelbert Humpersinck has been "selected" by the BBC to represent the UK at Eurovision. I might be wrong but didn't Morrissey suggest he might be available and interested in this last year only to be told he'd have to take part in a "rounds" competion and public vote before being actually selected (if succesful)? - He told them to stick it as a result. It now seems you can just be "selected" - I wonder if they asked Morrissey first and he said no?

I would hate for him to do this, only because I couldn't bare to hear people who didn't know him well before to refer to him as 'that bloke off Eurovision'.
