Estimated to be billions of pounds! I thought the Conservatives wanted us to bring down the uncontrollable debt?? Fine job they are doing, so far!

Well this railway is only for people from Brimingham to London and obviously visa versa. Ticket prices are going to be very expensive and probably us lower class aren't going to be able to afford tickets to get to work. It's said, it'll take 30 minutes less to get to London if they build this railway. But how many people will actually use it??

Hi Davie, how's it going?
This is an interesting one. One the one hand it is important that alternatives to the car are encouraged. When the Victorians were building present rail infrastructure there were similar complaints to what we are hearing now. Yet, on the other hand the points you raise are also true. So, I am on the fence at the moment. Some research required.

I would love to just see the ticket prices....I really do think this is going to be a complete waste of money.
I also want to add this is only for Brimingham and London! What about Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds? Why limit the railway for such a small number of people?

Are they planning to extend it later?

I wish we had a fast rail network here.

No plans as such...but be prepared for over expensive prices if it does reach your area though!

oh I didn't know she was from down under! I never bother to find out where anyone lives. I mostly assume nearly everyone is from UK here :lbf:
