Hi,
Maybe this is old news to some...but to folks like me who are looking to supplement their vintage Smith's video collections, I accidentally fell into a P-I-L-E of them on a site called coolerthanjesus.webs.com. The videos are of varying quality, and I know that some may be posted here or there on this site, too, but there are a bunch that I have not seen, and I wanted to share my find with others (you know, being that I've really benefitted from this site and being that it's Xmas and all ). Here's a listing of the videos that is already uploaded on this site that you can watch instantly:
1985/09/22 UK | Irvine, Magnum Leisure Center 30min
Shot from the crowd, close to the stage. The image unfortunately is a little unsteady and shaky. Though, it’s still an enjoyable little film. The sound quality is excellent. Filmed by Steve Catterell. Circulation: PAL DVD, master sourced. Soundsville International
1986/07/20 UK | Salford, Salford University 79min
Filmed from an elevated spot, left of center balcony. Steady camera work with nice close ups. Low generation source material Circulation: PAL DVD
1986/10/15 UK | Wolverhampton, Civic Hall 83min
Center shot with good close ups, steady and unobstructed. The audio quality is excellent as well, a true gem all around. Filmed by Steve Catterell. Circulation: PAL DVD, master sourced. Soundsville International
1986/10/21 UK | Nottingham, Royal Concert Hall 82min
Captured from a balcony spot by the side of the stage. The camera gets a whole lot of Morrissey’s back. Other than that, both image and sound quality are good. Circulation: PAL DVD, sourced from a 1st generation VHS tape.
1986/10/23 UK | Kilburn, National Ballroom 84min
Recorded from the balcony, center position. The camera work for the most part is pretty good and the audio sounds great too. Filmed by Steve Catterell. Circulation: PAL DVD, master sourced. Soundsville International
1986/10/24 UK | London, Palladium 83min
Filmed from the balcony, slightly left of center. Good close ups and nice camera work. The audio simply sounds great. Circulation: PAL DVD, master sourced. This comes bundled with London 1986/10/26. It’s a uni-track, which is a bit annoying.
1986/10/26 UK | London, Brixton Academy 80min
Filmed from the balcony, slightly left of center. Good close ups and nice camera work. The audio simply sounds great. Circulation: PAL DVD, master sourced. Also has London 1986/10/24. It’s a uni-track, which is a bit annoying.
1986/12/12 UK | London, Brixton Academy 80min
Filmed from a center spot on the balcony. Excellent camera work and quality audio make this an outstanding recording. Not one to be missed if you like The Smiths. Circulation: PAL DVD, master sourced.
