So expect some Smiths content, I'd say.

So, I'm guessing they might play some Smiths songs with a football related slant. Any guesses?

For goalies - Hand In Glove. Obviously.

Usual ill-informed Smiths' section shoe-horned into Friday's Football Focus. Nice to see the rest of the Salford Lads Club though.

Breakfast TV presenter: "How Soon Is Now? 12:15 actually" - it's going to be a cavalcade of Smiths-related footbal puns.

From Football Focus on BBC1 today. This is the intro to the programme. The show was quite heavily Smiths themed, an interview with Joey Barton on his love of "his favourite band", and a live tour of the Smiths room in the Lads club.

Thanks Peter. Not only was this programme only shown in the UK, but it is not going to be available on "I-Player" (a service the BBC provides to watch their programmes on the internet after they were first broadcast on TV). So it's down to us to upload hazy images for our friends around the world

Imiss footballfocus. I thought joey barton came across like an alright guy. not as much of a thug as he once was,and he loves the smiths. Would love him at celtic, never going to happen though.

QPR defender Joey Barton was introduced to the Smiths by his uncle – a man with the cover of Meat is Murder stuck to the front of his freezer. Joey came in to the Guardian to talk to Michael Hann about how Morrissey's music speaks to him, the problem with the Brits and why big gigs don't work.
