I was a bit thrown by this description given early on in the pub's bragging on the website:
"Complete with outside bar and bbq - what's not to love!!??"
But at least they offer "veggie nut roast with all the trimmings." in addition to the less Moz-approved entrees.

I hate to get all Theo on you but did you see the menu of the Cat & Fiddle? :p There's like three things he could order, I don't think Morrissey tailors his social hour to his preferred meatless diet.

I live in London, I didn't feel the need to say anything about it. Who cares whether somebody in a different country doesn't know the precise details of England's BBQ weather?

I think i was the one to send the original links to the lecture and where to get tickets as i was at Salford uni at the time, so yes i might have invited people from this forum. If i remember the night i spoke to Hugh (morrissey 23rd) and that was it, maybe Jukebox Jury as well. Even if I had seen you why would i "verbally attack" you, there would be no need as i dont know you personally, i only have a go at your style of moderating and sarcastic remarks, its nothing personal because as ive said i dont know you personally

also yes i may have seen you at one of the london gigs, ally pally i think it was, you were with another japanese lady? but why would i again verbally attack you?

also if you can dig up comments made on a forum from april 5th then you obviously are very sad or its a case of "all you need is me" ha (only joking)

It is a racist remark because:

- you specifically mentioned about my nationality which is nothing to do with being a moderator of the forums

- you also posted 'a short Japanese person is stupid' which shows your prejudice against the particular individuals fit in the category.

Really pathetic that a person who studied at a university still cannot distinguish right and wrong.

You got a point there. I think your demeanor and intention gets lost on the internet. I know a lot of Japanese people and not to make this about race, they are just more direct and succinct. I think you do that and the senstive Euro-types get their hackles up over it because it READS as crass. I dunno. This isn't a Kewpie Intetrvention thread, I just see both sides. It's only for concerts that the menu is important....It's just they were bragging about the bbq, so I imagined it fired up and meat smoke wafting over all the tables, which Moz is known to dislike, and that's why I was surprised. I know he doesn't care so much about the menu, but C&F actually isn't too restrictive for vegetarians. I've eaten there half a dozen times and haven't ordered the same thing twice yet.

If someone says "That swedish tall person is stupid" the Swedish bit is merely to positively identify the subject, so we know which tall person is being dissed. NOT racist.
If someone says "I hate swedish people, they're stupid" then the insult is applied because of race alone, making the comment RACIST.
Merely mentioning someone's race is not racist in itself.
Exceptions can be made for tall Mancunians that are in a lather about something (not a racist statement against Mancunians; merely using origin as an identifier).

Your problem is, your prejudice.

Kewpie, let's say that you are not intending to be rude, but it comes across as if you are. It's really good feedback for you if you are presenting yourself in a way you are not aware of. I felt that your answers seemed short and unfriendly and it would be in your own best interests to learn how to say the same thing in a nicer more gracious way. I don't know what barbecues in January have to do with anything or why that comment was significant. If the person assumed he wouldn't go somewhere that meat was being cooked that was the real issue. The answer would be that he seems to only have a problem with meat being cooked when it's at a Morrissey concert and he appears to be approving it, or, famously, when he's onstage having a bad show and the air is full of smoke and smells of grilled meat. I can see where it would be hard to give the full Morrissey show under those conditions.

Anyway, I felt basically the same thing as the peple that objected to the corrections. If people need to be corrected it would be better to be friendly, as a representative of the site, and sometimes the correction isn't even necessary and throws off the whole conversation.

Morrissey was spotted somewhere and we're arguing about website nonsense instead of talking about that.

Er..that seems a bit weird. I'm sure if you searched 'Morrissey' on Facebook it would come up. I don't really think it's right to post somebody's personal photos on here, plus the people in it look like young teenagers! I'm just saying it is around.

If you search 'Morrissey' on Facebook you come up with several thousand fans who put his name in their username. Sadly, you can't search by interest.

Just because someone else put it on Twitter doesn't mean I think it's ok or will do it myself, does it? I doubt the person who put it on there was either of the people in the photo & it linked to the Facebook page. They'd probably been 'stalking'. Sorry, I just think it's a bit weird.

But why come on here and say it exists here and there but yet won't give a link, I mean if it's on an open twitter/facebook account then the person obviously wants the picture to be seen

It's like me saying, I have the details of morrisseys next concert, I've found the signed document on somebody's twitter but I'm not sharing the link as it's weird

No it isn't, that's ridiculous. Morrissey wants fans to go to his shows so people need to know about them. Just because somebody hasn't got a closed Facebook page doesn't necessarily mean they want their photo all over another website. I wasn't trying to get one up on anyone, I was just saying there is a photo. I don't know why it means so much to everyone. He was sitting in a pub, he wasn't out dogging!

No my point with my example was that with your theory it would be wrong to post the picture of the signed document as it wouldn't be right posting somebody's "private" picture

Like I've said if it really exists then post it in the frink thread, as knowbody would really object to that I don't think

Also it's just good to see recent pics of Moz, you must have been pretty desperate to see if you went looking for it, unless your a friend of the person

Ha, it doesn't really bother me whether you believe me or not! I saw it on Twitter. I've already said that. Sorry I haven't devoted my entire life to hunting down photographs of Morrissey but somebody just 'retweeted' on there. I'm not friends with the people who met him. Your behaviour seems like that all the time. I mean the constant picking on kewpie for example. Like taking any option to mention her name no matter how far fetched it is. I have a bit of Wensleydale left over from Xmas. And I love marmite. Particularly since Marmite won the Ashes beating that sorry Aussie mess into oblivion (vegimite) I love it.

I'm going to try this sandwich later when I wake up. However my Wensleydale has cranberries in it (oo-er missus) and therefore I am slightly perturbed that the cranberries and the marmite don't mix. Of course I could use some whiskey marmalade as well which is also left over from Xmas but I prefer that on me crumpets.

As you were. Really. Is that a ring on Morrissey's finger?

I think you forgot to put an "e" in the middle of aweful. :p

Hey I thought of you today Dave. I took my bike to the bikeshop because I busted the chainring unsuccessfully jumping off a curb to not miss a green light. :p Cost me 35 bucks! (incl the part so no biggie) I thought "I bet Dave could fix this in exchange for a burrito and a beer."

Totally. Is your chainring a star design?

Totally. Is your chainring a star design?

No, it's cheaper. More intricate. It's just a cruiser. THe new one is a tad smaller, the guy sold me on it saying I could go up hills faster. THat and to get the same sized chainring would take a week to order. I bet the guy that witnessed the whole thing sitting at the bus stop was quietly lolling his ass off. :D

What size rims? My friend gave me my Redline because he felt bad that the Free Agent I bought from him was stolen.

oh my point was you should get Skyway Tuff Wheels and a star disk like old schwinn cruisers.

I think moderators should be allowed to be individuals as well.

For instance, there's a moderator here with a fondness for Marmite and attention-seeking trollish personalities who generally ignores the rest of the world. I think it's wrong! Hurtful! And just a little bit sad.

Well, do I say anything? Of course not. Mods are just human beings, you know!

I've said it before. I like your style. This is excellent.

To my put my two cents in I think RorschachAndProzac did the right thing in saying that she didn't want to put another persons Fb/Twitter photos on a public forum. I bellieve this ethical matter has been debated here before. Saying she didn't post the photos to gain attention is just lame.

Thank you, I'm glad somebody is reasonable around here.

. . . Gauguin at Tate Modern last night. Due south of scruffy Camden and 'pretend' arty people . . . :sweet:

And earlier one dined on . . . pan fried polenta with goats cheese, baby spinach, wild mushrooms with a deliciously sweet dressing . . . scrumptious!

Gauguin's work was just outstanding . . . the colours . . . the sensuality . . . the power . . . oh

. . . Morrissey would have loved the collection.

sigh.

Unfortunately highly unlikely to find Morrissey in an art gallery or museum.
On 15th December 2005 true-to-you Q&A:

What potential do you think art has as a vehicle for social change?

Alysha Layla Shaw
Santa Fe, New Mexico, U.S.A.

A:

hello Alysha
Feminism - yes, Greenpeace - yes, PETA - yes, Art - no. Most people have no interest in Art, and only accept it under extreme protest. All media heroes are Artless, all politicians are devoid of Art, and anyone in music attempting to convey Art is usually ridiculed. I think it's safe to say that the human race is probably scum, on the whole. There's no evidence to the contrary.

John Healy is an Anglo-Irish author who spent quite a while in Camden town, as a down-and-out. Then he wrote about it, and the middle-classes gave him a drubbing after first singing his praises. It's time the tale was told...

"Perhaps the greatest trick a writer can ever pull is to write about a familiar subject that has been covered a thousand times before, and bring a fresh insight to it, one that makes readers understand the subject in a profound way. If this is the case, then John Healy is something of a literary genius.

Healy’s life is as disturbing as it is implausible – he is made of the kind of stuff you couldn’t make up. He is, as Eoin Butler wrote in a short article for this newspaper’s Magazine, a “former boxer, soldier, deserter, wino and mugger” (you can read a longer piece by Eoin on Healy here). A chunk of his life was spent living rough in London, among the beggars and schemers, the addicts and derelicts, the ill and the plain unfortunate. His account of this life, The Grass Arena, is astonishing. It is brutal and unapologetic, and when it was published in 1988, it became something of a sensation. Healy had written about alcoholism, addiction and homelessness in a way that couldn’t fail to impact upon a readership. There are few books or articles that I’ve read that so brilliantly grasp the nettle (though this interview with Paul McGrath does spring to mind).

Then there is the fact that, while in prison, he replaced alcohol with chess, and rapidly became a tournament champion, beating grandmasters and even writing a book on chess tactics.

This would be enough for most people, but not Healy. Following a dispute with his publishers he disappeared from the public eye, until a surprise appearance at the Cúirt Literary Festival in 2007, and tomorrow night sees the broadcasting of John Healy: You Have Been Warned, a documentary on this extraordinary man of letters made by Paul Duane (who, incidentally, took the pictures that accompanied Eoin Butler’s article at the weekend). A longer, more in-depth version is due for limited cinema release in the near future.

Healy is a singular character, as evidenced by Eoin’s interview and this excellent interview with Erwin James (himself a former inmate), and he apparently has a cache of as-yet-unpublished work. Here’s hoping it sees the light of day. In the meantime, we have The Grass Arena and Duane’s documentary to savour." - http://www.irishtimes.com/blogs/pursuedbyabear/2011/01/10/return-to-the-grass-arena/

I have no idea what size my rims are, but I did learn last night that salad tossing is the same as a rim job. Lovely.

I got my back back today. The guy at the bikeshop put the new chainring on not realizing that my cruiser had a certain type of derailer that was not compatible. So they took the chainring off and straightened it out. Rode it about 5 miles and changed a lot of gears today, it did fine. :thumb:

Your problem is your attitude. It's just POINTLESS being like that. If you're under some illusion that it's witty in some way, or 'Morrissey-esque' then you're sadly mistaken. I live in London, I didn't feel the need to say anything about it. Who cares whether somebody in a different country doesn't know the precise details of England's BBQ weather?

Care to enlighten me as to what exactly I'm prejudiced against?

Thanks. It's always interesting looking at different cultures and how they differ from where I live. I would like to go to this Camden one day.

I wouldn't get too excited by Camden, it's not what it once was-
Though there is still lots to do there it must be said.

Good point,

RorschachAndProzac, I don't think you are very popular on this site...The picture has been posted anyway, which you could have saved us all the time and patience

To be faire Davie, is anyone popular on this site? you only have to disagree with the thought of the day and you get attacked, it's rather silly really- it is for this reason that Allyouneedismorrissey.com has been birthed.
Though, I have heard that the once Miss Cave did accuse Moz of being anti jew which is a tad daft.
